I called GE directly and they sent someone local. It was $265 for the labor and a $5.00 part. If I could have waited longer, he could have mailed me the part. After I saw what it was I could have fixed it myself because it was just a dial, had I known. He actually called me and asked me if I wanted him to mail it because it would be a whole lot cheaper, but I was only going to be in town 2 more days and not returning for over a month. so I said that I would have to bite the bullet and let him come out and charge me an outrageous price.
It would have been nice if somebody had called earlier and let me know that I could have went to the store and bought the part. He did call me but I had to leave town and I needed my clothes.
