Bridal Shops, Alterations/Sewing/Decorating
I was married in October of 2009 and went dress shopping to get an idea in November of 2008.
When I walked in the door I was ignored by all personnel. I started browsing through the dresses myself and approximately 20 minutes later I was asked if I needed any help.
I tried on a few dresses, although it was hard to get an idea because they had very few dresses in my size.
They were helpful in the dressing room, once we finally got in there.
I talked to the staff about what I would need to do if I were to order tuxes through them and they didn't actually do the tuxes; they ordered them through another place 5 hours (driving time) to the east and had them do alterations and mail the tuxes to them. Therefore, if any alterations were off etc. there was nothing they could do.
They gave me some information on when I would need to order things etc. if I were to go through them for my wedding gown, tuxes, bridesmaid dresses etc and I did not have enough time in the first place according to their timeline. Some things I could have gotten but would have had to pay a rush fee, although there was still 11 months until my wedding day!
I had found a flower girl dress I liked and they told me I had to order it 18 months in advance and it was just 11 months until my wedding day.
Needless to say I was not impressed with the service or the overall atmosphere.
My sister was married in July 2010 and I had to find a bridesmaid dress at this same location.
As before the staff was less than helpful and I was basically on my own. Once again I had a lot of trouble finding dresses in my size. There were dresses too big and dresses too small but very few in my size.
I had to have alterations done and it was a chore to set up the times to come in pre and post alterations, as they only do alteration fittings on specific days of the week at specific times.
When I went to pay for my dress I remember it was quite an ordeal as they cashier was on the phone so I waited in line for several minutes and then when I got up their the credit/debit card machine was not working.
They did do a great job with the alterations and in the end I was pleased with the overall look of the dress.
