They cracked one of the new skylights after it was installed, and backed over our mailbox. Estimate was 7704.00. Final bill was 7829.99, but they could not explain the difference in cost. We've paid $7000.00 as the skylight is still not repaired and we repaired the mailbox ourselves.

Award Roofing met with the insurance adjuster to verify the roof was damaged by hail. The hail occured after I moved out of the house and listed it for sale. A buyer had the house inspected and thats how the damage was discovered. Award Roofing worked with the insurance and quickly replaced the roof so the sale could go through. They were very helpful and stayed in close touch even though I was out of town.
The insurance company gave me the first of 2 partial payment to pay out to Award Roofing. The remaining balance would not be released until the work was done. After the work was done, I had to call and email Award Roofing numerous times to get them to send a final bill to the insurance company so the insurance company could release payment to me and I could pay them in full. After 5 months, I received a notice from the insurance that nearly 6 months had passed and the claim would be closed without payment at the 6 month mark, if they did not receive the bill. It was finally settled, but I've never seen a contractor who didn't want to get paid ASAP!

I saw the job they did for a neighbor, and inquired about the possiblity of getting a new roof put on a rental. He came to my house, we picked out the shingles, and received an estimate. He gave us an approximate start date, and all was setttled then and there. They showed up within the approximate start date time, and did a great job. I would hire them again.

There were no surprises and the work was very well done. In six months I have found one piece of tar paper and two nails, which overall is very impressive for a 1500 sq. ft. roofing project. I wasn't "wowed" with the price but they were in the middle of the four estimates I received. I am considering asking them if they will do the roof on my new house next year. I have heard through the grapevine they use temporary (migrant) workers if they get behind, but I had local permanent workers and was very happy.

Award Roofing came out and replaced our shingles. The work was done quickly, a day and a half. The problems started after they were done. Before we signed a contract, the Award Roofing representative told us that when they were done they would run a rolling magnet over the whole yard to insure there were no nails left in the yard. I thought this was nice because the last time we had our roof replaced, that didn't happen. When they called me to get the last payment for the job, I was told that there were 1800 dollars in new charges. He said there was more roof then they estimated. He was the one who measured the roof. I informed him I would pay what was in the contract and no more. I also reminded him that nobody had been out to pick up the nails. That was the last I heard from them. Here we are months later still picking up nails. I have 3 kids and a dog, they play in the yard all the time. I bet we have picked up over 200 nails. Thank goodness none have gone into my kids feet.
