He was highly recommended by a friend of mine. He said he could do the job but he needed half up front. I gave him half in cash on June 12 2008, I signed the contract and he signed the contract, and he did not give me a receipt but I wrote paid on the contract. He said that materials would be sent the next day, but they never came. I called him and he apologized and said they would be there but they never showed up and I have been tracking him down since. My daughter encouraged me to go to the police, which I did. I filled a formal complaint. The police called him and he called them back. He said I paid with a check and said he never got it, I told them I paid cash, he said he never received cash either. He told the police I was confused and that I probably paid one of my other workers. He insisted that he never got any money. The police said they could do nothing for me but they did file a report called B.O.T., Breach of Trust was on him. I have to go through small claims just to get my money back from this guy. I typed up a petition for all the people he has done work for to sign.
