Commercial Landscape Minor Grading or Resloping
Performed a disastrous job on my french drain project in 2021, agreed that it needed to be re-done for the (literally) third time in April 2024, and now it's been 1.5 years since Eddie told me yet again they would call me "tomorrow" to get me on the schedule. I wouldn't waste another second of my time on these people beyond this review.

I contacted Terratec in September 2024 due to water seeping into my basement through a crack in the cinderblock wall. During the inspection, I also pointed out cracks in the exterior stucco and other minor structural concerns. I made it clear that my goal was to prevent future damage and was open to more extensive repairs if needed. I was told it was a minor issue easily fixed with a French drain—no major foundation work required. What followed was over eight months of poor communication, broken promises, and unresolved issues. Getting a quote took six weeks, despite constant follow-up. I was repeatedly misinformed about what the job would include, including being told that exterior sealing was part of the scope—only to find out during the install it wasn’t. Even after I agreed to proceed, scheduling the work was chaotic, with appointments made without my knowledge and crews arriving late. The French drain was installed in February, but after the first heavy rain, the basement leaked again. I had to escalate again — speaking with the COO multiple times throughout this ordeal — and each time I was promised better communication and resolution. Each time, the follow-through was nonexistent. A follow-up revealed a large, visible exterior crack that was somehow missed. I was told a warranty repair with hydraulic cement would be done under warranty. The repair was delayed multiple times from no shows, only partially completed, and didn’t fix the issue. Water continues to enter my basement, and now the damage is worse than before. I contacted Terratec to come back out and the rep that showed up was 30 minutes late to the appointment, and left after the few minutes it took for me to answer the door. I contacted the main office and found out the rep lied and stated he waited for me for over ten minutes. To make matters worse, my calls and emails are now ignored. I'm still waiting on a response from management on how this is going to be fixed, but they have yet to respond to me. This has been an exhausting and frustrating process. I’ve been misled, ignored, and charged for incomplete work. I strongly regret choosing Terratec and would not recommend them to anyone looking for reliable or professional service.

Great! Professional, practical and pleasant. Installed both structural and block piers. Impressed with the value-based assessment of what to do to maintain our property value. We will recommend Terratec at every opportunity.

Terratec personnel not only cut off another french drain system from the front yard to the lake, they also cut off the sump pump connection that existed under the house without tying into their system until I finally complained loudly enough.  Further, their system was run over by their own heavy equipment crushing the drain system on the north side of the property.  This has caused water to collect in that area.
When they started the project in Oct. 2012, they did not notify the company that sends techs out to identify utility lines and they cut the gas line to my house.
I had a sump pump in the backyard on the south side of the property that their equipment shorted out.  That sump pump ran the water from the front yard to the lake.  Not only that, but they found that tie in and diverted it to their sump pump for the french drain that they installed around the foundation of the house.
I was told, by the president of the company, that my rain gutter downspouts should have been tied into the french drain system by her employees.  But, in January of 2014 when they came to do that, the president asked if I really wanted that.  I was shocked because she was the one who told me that should have been done.
There were so many issues, and the length of time between anyone contacting me was ridiculous.  The bottom line is that they do not understand french drains, they are not professional and I was say run the other way and definitely find someone who will give you a warranty which I have obtained from another company and will be using them in the future.  This company doesn't guarantee anything.
There were so many problems and I wish I had lived in the home prior to allowing them on the property, but they were recommended by a friend.  Please do your research before hiring anyone, especially this company.  Get everything in writing, do a walk through of the property, make whoever you hire explain it all in detail.  Especially if they are "supposedly a friend of yours".

Terratec was the most unprofessional, apathetic, lackadaisical, incompetant company I have ever delt with.  Do yourself a favor and call ANYONE else.  After they do the "work" on your house they will leave you high and dry on the supposed warranties.  They are scam artists and will take your money and run.  These "warranties" they are passing out have so many holes in them, legally they will not be responsible 10 years later when your house crumbles to the ground.

They have NO ENGINEER to advise them on what needs to be done to stabilize houses.  They are flying by the seat of their pants and don't have 1/2 a brain between everyone that works there. If you are having foundation problems call a structural engineer and have them evaluate your situation (~$500).  Then call anyone but Terratec.  I had Falcone Crawl Space and Structural Repair come out and are scheduled to have them do work on the house in January.  The Falcone representative came out, on time, as scheduled, and recommended I call a structural engineer before they quote the work needed to stabilize the house.  Imagine that!  An honest company that knows when to call in someone with an education.

Terratec is a joke.  Whatever you do, don't call them.

They took 45 minutes to get here but they did all the work that was quoted. It appears they did everything they said that they were going to do including morter filling. They were nice enough to put a drain pipe for my HVAC system that the installation guys should have put in. They kind of left it hanging by the HVAC unit and I didn't think it looked too good. But the Terratec people took it upon themselves to put in an appropriate length of pipe on the HVAC unit which I thought was nice of them. But I wasn't here to see the work they performed becuseeI was at work.

I can't really complain about anything that they did and thought the work was satisfactory. They came when they were supposed to and cleaned up after their work. I had to have a conversation with the president of the organization about their cost and it was reduced by $250. Unfortunately the home inspector at the time that we were preparing to sell the home found a problem. The inspector they used was Terratec to follow-up on the home inspector and so that was the only association we had. We decided not to call a second structural group to compare the service. Our real estate agent felt that this was a reasonable charge and a reasonable company and that's what made it satisfactory. We really didn't think it needed to be done and neither did a friend who's a structural engineer, but when the inspection was held the prospective buyers knew about the problem or thought there was a problem we had to go through with it to sell the house. I want need them again because we moved to a retirement community, but if I had to use them I suppose I would. I didn't find any fault with what they did.

She came out and gave me a quote, it was reasonable. They did it within 2 days, and they did a really nice job. She was accessible and I was able to do the payment over the phone which made it easier. She was very communicative, any questions I had she addressed. She's an independent, not a franchise. She was very clear before they did anything, that if they had to dig deeper, what it would cost per foot to put the posts in the ground, and she would call me before they did that to let me know. She felt strongly that we wouldn't have to do that, and they didn't in the end, but I appreciated her letting me know the best case and worst case scenarios. I was very pleased with them.

They did a good job with the foundation but not such a good job with the floors. I'd use them again for foundation work, but not floors.
