Kelly Construction

Not well at all. We've used Kelly Construction in the past with good results but this time was different, unfortunately. Here is the bottom line up front: The work he has done for us has been acceptable but I would stay away from him because he is unreliable and does show up when he says he will and does not keep his word. For me, that is a deal-breaker! The story: I called him when I found out what repairs needed to be done for the sale of our house. He quoted a price for the easy repair items and agreed to come out and take care of them and provide a quote for the other items once he got there. He completely blew off our first appointment without calling me. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and set up a second appointment. He managed to get there only an hour or so late for the second appointment. He came alone and fixed the things he said he would fix. He did those repairs well. We discussed the other repairs and we discussed a price. HE AGREED TO DO THE WORK. I told him we were on a timeline and he understood and said he would get the work done within 3 weeks. Three weeks came and went. I did not hear from Steve. I called repeatedly. He did not answer. I left voice mails that were not returned. I tried to contact him through Angie's List. He did not get back to me. Of course, since he agreed to do the work, I stopped looking for anybody else to do the work. Once it became clear that Steve was not going to do what he said he would do, It was next to IMPOSSIBLE to find a qualified contractor who would do the work for me in the time I had left. I place blame squarely on Steve Kelly's shoulders. Had he told me he didn't want to do the work up front, I would have been able to find someone else. Kelly Construction does not show when they say they will, does not do what they say they are going to do. I will not be calling them again.

Our project was to enclose part of a back screen porch to use it as an office. Additionally, a kitchen cabinet was built to accomadate a new gas range and microwave. The island cook top was removed a butcher block top was added.
 
Steve Kelly was punctual in submitting his bid for the project and the price fit our budget. We felt very comfortable with Steve and his employees having access to our house as we were often not present when work was in process.
We think the work was of the best quality, things were made to look as though they were original to the house and we had minimal clean-up to do when the work was completed. 
While the project took longer than it should,  we would call on Steve again and be glad to recommend him.

We had an outstanding experience with Kelly Construction. I initially contacted Steve through Angieslist email. He was very responsive and contacted me within 5 minutes of submitting the request. He was here the next day to give us an estimate. While he was here, he talked to us about what we wanted, options available to us, his crew, and the materials he would be using. Within two days, Steve had provided a detailed, easy to understand, written estimate. 
When the day came to install the windows, Steve and his crew were on-site, on time and with all the tools supplies and equipment they needed and they went straight to work. I was impressed with the speed at which they installed the windows! The window install went quickly. The detailed work of wrapping the window boxes was a little slower. The crew took its time to get it right and it shows. The windows look great!
We had an excellent experience with Kelly Construction. They were prompt, on time, professional and courteous, and the price was right! I highly recommend Steve Kelly and his crew at Kelly Construction for all your window replacement needs! You will not be disappointed.

Steve came out twice to go over different posibilitys on the project.He was upfront in all areas,however he didnt get the bid.

They did a great job and we were very pleased. They did everything they were supposed to do and they did it for a reasonable price. They did it within the timeframe they gave us. They were reliable. They were very professional.

The project went very smoothly. After lookng at the work that needed to be done, Steve provided a detaled estimate within a couple of days. We signed a contract on Friday and hs crew began work on Monday. The work proceeded smoothly and steadily until completion.

We did allot of checking on Angie's List and had companies come out to give us an estimate.
Steve Kelly came out and we talked for a long time. We found out allot about him and asked
for references. I contacted  4 of them and they all had the same things to say. He was

fair priced, approachable, honest and eager to make you happy. He won our business.As time
went on a relationship seemed to be developing, more than client /contractor. My husband who
can be anti-social seemed to gravitate outside allot laughing & joking with the entire crew.  This
crew works as a TEAM!! Everyone on this team contributed to a job well done!!!!!

We needed more storage so after asking around, Steve Kelly was recommended to us.  I gave him a call, he came out and we discussed our needs/wants etc.  He gave us several options to choose from and we started the estimate process from there.  He is very professional and easy to talk to about what we wanted and expected.  Once we got the contract agreed upon, he began working.  We made a few changes along the way and he and his crew were great about those as well.  For example, I had them put windows where I thought I wanted them and when I saw the holes framed up, I decided it wasn't really going to work out in reality like it had in my mind and it was no problem for them to change them, no complaining etc...they just did what I asked, even in the sweltering heat.  I think he does good work at a fair price and while we haven't had any issues come up with his work so far, (it was just recently completed)  I feel if we do, he will take care of it and stand behind his work.  Overall, we are very pleased with Steve and his crew and would not hesitate to recommend or use them again in the future, which I plan to do with a kitchen cabinet remodel and a new deck if my husband doesn't get it done!!

Excellent! everything is beautiful. The only problems we had were when the window didn't come in as they were ordered. This was not his fault. Things after the job went South. Had trouble getting him on the phone when we had a "punch list" of problems with the job. He finally came out and fixed the stuff but wasn't happy about it.
