Mulch and Topsoil Service
Dixie Landscape sells Dixie Mix, a planting soil based on mushroom compost and other additives. They sell it by the front end loader scoop, which is about half a pickup truckbed load. A scoop of Mix is $37.00. I used Dixie Mix to build my raised rose and vegetable garden bed. I cannot believe the results. The company says you don't need fertilizer with this mixture, and I agree. My plants are growing like weeds! I planted tomato seedlings 5 weeks ago, and I already have tiny tomatoes. The tomatoes themselves are at least 5 feet tall. In addition, the mix is light and friable, so it holds moisture well and doesn't compact. This is the best growing medium I've ever used, and I've been gardening for 50 years.
