I love this company !!!!   I have had 2 contracts with this company for 6 years now - one for my primary residence and one for a rental house I own.
If you look around on the internet you will see countless horror stories about warranty companies who take your membership fee but then resist paying for anything or make it you fight for every penny. I can assure you this is NOT that type of company. In 6 years I have NEVER had to argue with them over paying for a repair at either house.
In the first year of my contract with them my AC unit went out and it had to be replaced completely, which is obviously about the most expensive thing to fix in a home. With this large of an expense they did of course try to do a smaller repair in the beginning, but when the problem resurfaced a short time later they agreed to replace the entire unit - and since it was so soon after the repair they didn't even charge me the co-pay again.
Since then they have replace or repaired several other appliances/systems in my 30 year old home and in all honesty, I probably won't need anything repaired again for quite some time so logically - I probably don't need to renew my contract next year - but they have been so good to me that I will stay with them as long as I own the house and give them a chance to make their money back. That's how much I like them.
Prices vary by location, size/type of house and probably other factors, but to give you an idea of the cost, I have a 30 year old house with a heat pump, 2000 square feet in South Carolina. My base annual fee is about $600, or about $50 per month and I pay another small add-on for an outdoor jacuzzi. The co-pay per repair is about $60. You can look them up online and call for your own estimate.
In some cases I did have to wait a couple of days to get a repairman to come out, but this was more a factor of their preferred service providers being overloaded (for example an AC repairman on the first hot day of the year). I've had other cases such as last night when I went online (on a Sunday night) and entered a service request for a leaky outdoor spigot. The repair company contacted us within 2 hours and it was fixed this morning by 10am. I don't think you can ask for more than that (by the way the service contract for plumbing fixtures runs about another $5 per month but its worth it).
Bottom line is ----- USE THIS COMPANY if you want an honest home warranty company.
