Cory performed these services over a couple of days/weeks after we moved into our new home. We told him what types of colors and plants we liked. Based on that, he drew up what he thought would work. The builder didn't grade properly, according to Cory and others because of the standing water everywhere, so Cory said we needed drainage done to take care of that.
Common sense says, you put basins at the lowest point, which he didn't do, so we continued to have water gathering beyond his placement. Regardless, he brought in the cheapest mulch, should I say tree bark because that's what it looked like. The trees never came in, so he replaced them and those haven't shown growth either.  He has already replaced dead plants, but with different looking plants.
We paid 75% of the over $20K he quoted us. We paid him increments of the balance, but he continued to groveling inappropriately on our front steps for more money. He told us he couldn't go home unless he brought home more money. We were only talking about $1700, which was all we owed him. We were only going to pay him when we saw plants stop dying and water stop pooling. We were given poor quality service and plants. He was inappropriate in begging and telling us how he needed money. It's funny how he always pulled up in new vehicles he would tell us he just purchased at auction, or about the new boat he and his family had just used on vacation at the beach. Amazing! Our yard still looks like crap!! We have people leaving us all kinds of information on yard services because it looks that bad.
We are approaching our year warranty period and we haven't heard from him in over 6 months. We do know he's no longer doing landscaping, just grading/paving.
Beware, he and his wife sub contract through Schumacher Homes, so you should look up that review as well. Also beware, when the workers on the job are all relatives. That's a huge red flag!!!
