He performed the limb cutting. We decided not to have him do the fertilizer and asked if he would instead, creat the flower bed for the Crepe Myrtles. We had paid up front, so he said he'd do the flower bed with the difference left from not doing the fertilizer. We asked him if where we wanted the flower bed would work with where the sprinkler heads were and he said yes. He brought in field dirt, not even good stuff. His workers ran over our sprinklers in the process of getting the load back there. After we turned the sprinklers on, the heads closest to the flower bed were too strong and wore the dirt away from the bed. The roots of the Crepe Myrtles were exposed. We laid blocks and stone around so the water wouldn't continue washing away the dirt. When we confronted Carlos Castro about it, he suddenly didn't understand English. He became irriated and just walked away after saying we told him to put it there.
His workers do yardwork for a couple of the residents that live in this neighborhood. He's also approached everyone about giving discounts if he was given the contract to do work for the neighborhood. One of his workers broke off a sprinkler head of ours while doing our neighbor's yard. He did fix it after we mentioned it to him, but it took about 4 weeks.
We would never recommend him to anyone because he tends to recommend services that are not needed. He isn't credible when challenged.  It turns out, we really didnt need limbs trimmed. We will continue to complain about him to our neighbors to eventually get him off the neighborhood contract.
