I called Busbee Plumbing on a Sunday evening after I torqued the shower assembly apart trying to remove a welded on bonnet nut. John call me back immediately and gave me a ballpark price to replace. (In fact, of the three contractors I called, he was the only one to do this.) He said he would be there at 9 AM the next morning and indeed he was. He was prompt, courteous, and very fast. He came in a little under his original estimate which i thought was originally reasonable. In today's culture, that's unheard of and refreshing to see. I would definitely hire Busbee Plumbing again. -- Andy R.

John prefers to get a visual of the work to be performed, at which point he attempts to give you a ballpark estimate. This is helpful, and appreciated. He does this via picture mail, and prefers to converse via text, so this could be more challenging for the technology impaired.
He made a point of asking that he be texted the following day at lunch time, in order to determine if he would be coming out that day (during the week). It seemed if you were contacting him towards the end of the week then he would assure you were serviced on the weekend. The back and forth to establish a time was somewhat frustrating, but once given a Saturday appointment he showed up right on time.
He had hoped to replace only the cartridge in the shower valve, but ended up being unable to remove it from the valve, and instead had to replace the entire valve assembly. He moved around appointments to ensure the full service was completed immediately, and made sure the section of drywall that had to be removed was replaced, mudded, and ready to be painted.
He does not work with home warranty companies, and it seemed my home warranty company would not reimburse the full amount paid, perhaps due to a lack of itemized invoice, or to the service exceeding the amount they allow for the type of service. I am not well versed in plumbling, but the repair cost did not seem astronomical in light of the amount of work to be done.
Overall, I would use John again, as quality contractors seem to be lacking in this day and age.

I called John at 7:45am to see if he could repair a leak under my elderly mother in law's sink. We'd had bad luck with 2 other plumbers: one didn't bother to look for the leak and instead suggested she needed to update her whole bathroom instead. The second found the leak but also tried to up-sell a bathroom renovation, then never returned her calls once she agreed (against our advice.) Finally I called Busbee Plumbing and are we glad we did!
John is an old fashioned, customer oriented plumber who shows up on time, does a good clean job, charges a fair price and is honest. He asked me to take a photo of the valve under the sink and send to him via text so that he could get a jump on the set-up. He was able to fit us in about 2 hours later.
He repaired my mother in law's leaky pipe after the two other plumbers tried to get her to demo her bathroom with new marble vanity and sink and faucets etc. Yes, it would be nice to update those old functional fixtures but the actual problem was a drip near the cutoff valve. John did not try to up-sell an expensive renovation, rather he fixed her leak and solved the problem. Thanks for being honest and straight. We will call again and have recommended Busbee to others in Augusta.
