ELITE FLOOR SANDING

It was great. They did a great job.

It came out great. They did a good job. They were conscientious and explained the whole process and showed us how it would work. They did the job on time when they said they would.

Refinished hardwood floors throughout house and parquet floor in kitchen. Performance and quality of work was outstanding but owner's communication skills were lacking. Floors look terrific

Had our main floor hardwoods sanded and refinished. He did a great job and did it very promptly.

I called and the provide gave me a quote over the phone of $2/square foot for sanding, staining and putting 3 coats of polyurithane on the floors, including all materials. We scheduled for them to come on July 4th. This is not a property I live in so I told them there would be a key under the mat. I stopped by mid day to check in. They were not there. I did receive a voice mail at some point that day that they would be there the next day ('m not sure when that came in, I just noticed it that evening). They did come the next day.
I had scheduled them to do 2 rooms. While they were there, I was pulling up the carpet from some other rooms which I thought had plywood underneath. I discovered hardwoods. They said that they did not have time to add those 2 rooms onto this job but that they could do it next week. When they asked me what color stain I wanted, I showed them the can I had bought to stain the trim myself. I told them that's what it was for and then left the can in the bathroom. I came back to the property to check the job and leave the rest of the payment when it was done. The floors looked good. It wasn't until a couple of days later when I returned to continue working (this was a whole renovation project) that I discovered a number of problems.
1. My stain was gone. This place is very rural and it is an hour and a half driving time round trip to Lowes to buy some more stain, aside from the fact that they were supposed to provide all the materials and not use the $30 can that I bought. I called one number to let them know this and to ask what color it was because I did not recall. By the time I got to Lowes, I had not heard back so I called another number and got who I believe was the owner Jamie. Turns out they had only used a little bit of my can but then taken the rest with them. When I pointed out the time and hassle out of my day to go get more (I then had to meet up with them to get the rest of my can back) he was essentially unresponsive.
2. In carrying the large sander up the porch stairs, they broke off the ac drain pipe (required or else the water drips onto the stairs). When I pointed this out, he said (exact quote) "Oh yea, sorry about that." Then nothing. They knew they broke it at the time too because they put a bucket underneath to catch the water.
3. Someone with dark stain on their hand left a big handprint on a yellow wooden chair. When I pointed this out, he told me that paint thinner would take that right off. Seems to me they should have cleaned up after themselves by doing that.
4. The water was off at the property because of a small leak in the hose pipe outside. Someone had a bowel movement and let it sit there for FIVE DAYS! DISGUSTING! The smell was overwhelming the next time I went in there. I don't know if they knew the water was off (I forget) but at the very least call and tell me so that I can tell you that you can turn the water on long enough to flush or so that I can come and do it myself in a reasonable time, not leave it for me to find after FIVE DAYS!
5. Finally I discovered that my hammer made it on to their truck along with the can of stain. (I am positive of this as it was a complete reno project of a vacant house with no furniture or anything or places for the hammer to be "misplaced") After the responses I got to my other issues, I wrote it off.
When discussing the first 3 items with the owner, he was very gruff with a "so what" attitude. He also complained about how hard the job was and how long it took. Maybe coming to see the job first and not quoting over the phone would be best if you want to know what you're getting into. Also when I picked up the stain from the guys (after raising all these issues) I was told that they wouldn't be able to do the other rooms for 2-3 weeks when just a couple of days ago they could do it in a few days. Pretty sure I was blown off. My floors look good but the whole experience was terrible.

Elite floor sanding did an excellent job of sanding and refinishing hardwood floors.  I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were great. I thought they did a really good job. The only complaint that I have is that the verbal estimate they gave me was a little bit less than what they ended up giving me in the written estimate. But, they did a wonderful job. They were right on time, cleaned up and their price was really competitive. I was really pleased with them. They were there when they said they would be. They explained everything they were going to do. They told me exactly what they were going to do.

They were quick to respond. He got right back to me and he didn't have anything right quick, but he worked it in, between trips and big jobs - he did it. He came three times because he had to do the sanding in one day and I think he applied three coats of finish. He did one coat after the sanding. And then he did two coats - one early in the morning and one in the afternoon. He did a great job. I was real pleased with it. They were excellent all the way around. I didn't have a lot of personal contact with them because I was in and out of the house, but I felt perfectly comfortable leaving them in my home. I certainly would use them again.

They were outstanding. I had another refinishing company come in before I called Elite Floors who was less than adequate. They came in on time and did a wonderful job.  They were very clean and reasonably priced. They went above and beyond to fix the other company's mistakes and make sure I was happy with the work.

Went well and as expected. 

Could not have asked for any better!  Timely on quote return, worked with my schedule to fit me in and then actually called to switch and get my floors done a week early and only took 3 days.  The inital quote did not include a hallway or closets and the re-calculation did not include all of the closets but Elite said they understood if I did not want to pay the difference or even half of the difference.  I was so pleased with the results that I paid more then half of the difference.
