SAM HILL FENCING INC

Sam Hill sales rep came to the house to quote. After I paid the deposit which was for materials he became unresponsive. Quote job completion for 3 weeks. Materials took 4 weeks to come in and he never ordered the gates. After 5 weeks waiting on his subcontracted installer to actually show up I found that he still had not ordered the gates or the hardware to install them. Work quality is very poor, workers show up drunk and unhappy. a 3 day job took over a month and a half.

Very pleased with results. Good workmanship.

It went better than expected and his crew was highly professional. These guys know what they are doing and the final result is better than I thought it would be.

The fence had to be approved by the local historical society which was the hardest part of this project. Once it was approved, Sam Hill wasted no time in getting started. Several changes had to be made, such as picket tops to the fence, to meet the historical society's demands. Sam Hill was very accommedating to all the changes. There was a delay during the last stage of the project, due to an incorrect measurement involving a gate, that one of Sam Hill's contractors was responsible for incurring.  This delay caused me grief and had this not occurred, I would have nothing but rave reviews to deliver to Angie's List. But in the end, Sam Hill came through and completed the project as he promised.

It's a great company. I'm very pleased with the workers and the pricing. It's just excellent all the way around. I do remember my husband saying it was very fair. Everyone was very professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very kind, easy to talk to and work with. They wanted it to be done the way I wanted it done. My husband said the pricing was very fair.

 They completed the job in a timely matter.  The job was cleaned up of all garbage and any shrubs that had to be removed.  They were very professional and nice.  It was very hot and they continued to work.  Many of our neighbors that were walking byand some in their cars, would stop and say how beautiful the fence was.  We are very pleased with his work and the cost was very fair.  The amt. stated about was for all supplies and work.  Yes we would hire him again.  Matter fact, I've already had a neighbor come by and give his information.  He is a good, honest man.

They completed the work in only 2days. I was not present for any of the work & had no complaints about the fence. It was exactly what I wanted. I appreciated the professionalism and personal friendly character of Mr.Sam Hill. The cost was excellent and the materials used were of outstanding quality. called around at a number of places & Sam hill fencing was the best in the area.

They were very prompt. They came and did the quote and a week later came and did the work and I have been very satisfied. Their prices are very competitive.

Called back 1 week later and told them to go ahead with the project. They built the gate at thier shop on the Wednesday i called in the order and installed them the very next day Thursday. Installation went perfect could not ask for a better transaction. 

I was extremely pleased with the whole experience and product that I received from Sam Hill. I was a little doubtful at first that one person could do all the work on the fence but he required no assistance and did a better job than I have seen some groups do that have multiple workers. After the initial consultation the first day, I did not have to stay at the house with him which was convenient because I could run errands and get things done instead of sitting at home while the work was being done. I was having the fence put up because I have dogs and while I have a large lab I also have 4 pound chihuahua. Sam Hill fencing was very understanding to the fact that I needed the fencing "dog-proofed" so that she could not escape through the crevices. They dug a trench to set the fence in so she could not get under it and set the poles extra close to my house so she could not squeeze between them, all at no additional cost. The worker that came out to put up my fence was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He made me feel relaxed considering I was having a stranger at my home to do work. The fence looks wonderful, it is perfectly straight on all of our property lines, and to date the chihuahua has not escaped. I would recommend them to anyone needing to put up a fence.

Sam Hill Fencing was a little higher priced than some of the other quotes that I got. However, the quality of my fence is much better than others that I have seen, that were put up by other companies. Sam Hill used 6X6 corner posts and does not use pre-made sections of fence. Each piece of the fence was put up separately and it really makes for a great fence. Overall, the quality of the fence is second-to-none and I would definitely recommend Sam Hill if you're looking for the best quality. The problem with Sam Hill is their timeliness. I was originally told that the fence would be started in 10 days and completed in about 17 days. In the end it took over a month for the fence to be finished and that was only after I called and threatened to get a refund from my credit card company. I was told on many occasions that there would be people working on my fence one day and then when I would come home from work, no work would be done. I would call again and they said that someone would be out there this afternoon. When I returned home from work that evening still no work would have been done. This went on for a few days. Eventually I installed a web-cam outside of my house so I could monitor it from work. I called them one morning and told them that if someone wasn't working on my fence in one hour or less, that I was contacting my credit card company to do a charge back (I began to wonder if one of the reasons that they were delaying my job was because of the fact that I paid for it in advance). One hour came and went and I looked on the web cam and saw that no one was working. I called them back and explained that I had a web-cam up and told them that I know no one was working. I think at that point they realized I was serious and someone was out there within another hour. It still took a long time to complete my fence, but in the end I was very happy with the quality of the fence. At our next house if we need to buy a fence I will probably go with Sam Hill Fencing again, but I'm going to pay as small of a deposit as possible and then only pay once the fence is completed. I think (hope) that will cause them to work a little faster. I don't mind waiting a little while longer or paying a little more for a higher quality fence, but it shouldn't take more than a month to get the fence up. If you go with Sam Hill fencing make sure that you get in writing when they are supposed to start and when they are supposed to be finished. I don't know if they would agree to this or not, but I'm going to try to put some sort of clause in the contract saying that if the fence is not finished in a certain period of time that I'll get a discount on it.
