We had some heavy rain last night and no water in the basement. The new extended gutters worked great.
I was provided pictures of all work completed and since I don't live in the state the owner offered to stop by now then to make sure our landscaper was removing leave to keep the drainage channels open. I offered to pay an extra maintenance fee and the owner said it was not necessary!!! Wow great service.
But, once the schedule is set, communications are good. And, good quality work is completed on schedule.
back yard
The first time we spoke he asked me if I could email him some pictures of the wall so that he could visualize the project before coming out to the house. I thought this was brilliant -- I'm surprised more contractors don't do this.
He came out the first time to look at what I needed done, spent quality time scoping the project to provide a cost estimate, and walked me through what he was doing and how he thought it should be done.
His first work visit was excavating the wall. This was done so well. He's a master with the excavator, doesn't make any unnecessary mess when removing the dirt, and gets it done quickly.
During a few chats we had during the day, I talked about my plans for building the french drain and Benjy gave me lots of great advice on things to think about, techniques for building the drain, and guidance on products I should use.
The second visit was to help move the rock for the drain. It's a long wall and I had to move 10 tons of rock (yes, 20,000 lbs). Benjy used his Dingo / Bobcat to help drop the rock over the wall and that pile of rock was gone in no time. (He even got my 4 year old daughter up on the Dingo so that we could take pictures!)
The third visit was to back fill the wall. Again, a master with the excavating equipment. The wall was back filled in no time and the ugly piles of dirt gone.
Benjy is great. His work is top-notch, he's a great guy, his prices are very reasonable, and he's super easy to work with. He met all of my needs, was easy to do business with, and overall it was a great experience.
Repeat: if you need anything done that requires an excavator or a Dingo / Bobcat, make one call -- call Benjy.
I'll call Benjy any/every time we need help. Trust me... just Let The Dirt Dogs Do It!
