LG Dirtbusters LLC

This is the second concrete project completed by LG Dirtbusters at our home. Loren and his crew did an excellent job on our first project about a year ago (large patio, walkway and driveway), and we got the same high quality on this second project at front of house. Other contractors may charge less, but don’t do as good a job - we have had no cracks anywhere, and have excellent drainage away from the house, and a beautiful concrete finish. They have the right equipment to do a very professional job. Several people were so impressed and they stopped at our house and asked us who did our project. Loren and his crew are honest, prompt and very reliable, and worked very hard to get it done right. Highly recommend for any concrete project.

We chose LG Dirtbusters to do our project, based on reliability, professionalism, reasonable estimate, and previous reviews on Angie’s List. Loren Purcell and his crew came on time every day, and worked well as a team to get the work done. Kept us informed during project, and were very professional. They removed an old crush run/gravel driveway, and our old block patio, and installed a beautiful new and larger concrete patio and driveway. They removed a lot of old shrubbery, and removed and disposed of an old fence and big shrubs along the fence line. Loren was very knowledgeable, and was able to give good suggestions to help with our planning of the project. This company is honest- the crew accidentally bumped an outside water faucet during foundation plants removal, causing a water leak, which they accepted responsibility for and paid plumber for repair. Loren did an excellent job in ensuring there was proper drainage on the patio to keep water away from the house foundation, and there is no longer any pooling of water on the patio or driveway. We are very happy with the results, quality of work is excellent, and would rehire.

I was totally impressed with the people who did the job. They were punctual, efficient, and personable. The job itself is exceptional. Both the driveway and walkway look great and reflect the workmanship and the pride of those who work for Dirtbusters . I highly recommend their services.

We purchased this home in February, when spring cam we tried to "Open" the pool.. The pipes were shot, the pool had been covered of course and we were assured the pool was fine, but it was not. The pool was a total loss. My second concern was the pool was one foot from the house! All the humidity etc is bad for the building. I called Loren out to get an estimate on the demo and to have the area where the pool was sloped away from the house for drainage purpose.

Loren gave an estimate, I agreed and after a few delays (my own) got a date set and the crew showed up, first the concrete was cut up, then the pool "Hole" was filled in a foot at a time compacting sole as they went. He was concerned about affecting the foundation so they were extremely careful and ensured the fill dirt was compacted a lot. They took great care top locate and avoid my septic tank, they also worked around the foundation with great care.

All in all, a very successful demo, the yard looks so much nicer with out that green pond I had! Now I will place a nice deck in its place.

I will call on them again when I am ready for a new driveway and side walks!

Grading and concrete work was done expertly.  The only issue that arose shortly after work completion was with the concrete, which was not the fault of LG Dirtbusters.  LG promptly had  the concrete company come take a look at the discoloration that occurred.  The concrete company treated it with something, and there was not more that could be done.  LG Dirtbusters were prompt; and when delayed they always called to let us know.

I called about 6 companies on Angie's list and he was one of about 3 that called back, and by far the most professional. He was here when he said he would be and gave a solid estimate that included a lot of things that the other guys hadn't figured in or were gonna hit me with later. Other guys showed up late for estimates if at all, and wanted to pour over existing old asphalt/brick. No way was I gonna do that.
Lauren removed the old driveway/patio, poured 4" all the way through the job, built a step on the patio, and placed brick pavers for our front sidewalk to give us a unique look without breaking the bank.
He isn't the cheapest estimate, and he is very candid about that, but he is also very candid about the great job he will do. I will be having Lauren do additional work in the future, because I can count on his punctuality, and professionalism.

Loren and the crew of LG Dirtbusters made a complicated job seen easy. The communication between myself and Loren went smoothly and without a hitch, we both knew exactly what we needed and had no problems with the job. All of the workers were professional and very skilled. They performed all the work as contracted, and left the work site clean. If all contractors ran their business like Loren there would be a lot more satisfied customers. Many of my neighbors have inquired about the job, and I would recommend LG Dirtbusters  to anyone.

The crew at LG Dirtbusters was terrific to work with.  They were punctual, did a great job, and thoroughly cleaned up when they finished.  They were very respectful of our property and made a concerted effort to minimize impacts to our yard from the construction process.

They were absolutely great. They did a gorgeous job. My neighbor even came over and have them put a pavement outside the garage door around to the front of the house. He saw what they did and they did some work for him, too. They were really good. I was highly pleased. They did very nice quality work. The workmanship was superb. I wouldn't hesitate using them again. I even started talking to them about redoing my driveway. They're a little on the high side but the quality makes up for the price. They're punctual and quick, too. They didn't play around. They got the job done. It was impressive.

My first exposure to Loren was a little negative because I thought his estimate was too high.  I had a previous estimate for considerably less.  After listening to Loren as he detailed the work effort, I realized this job was bigger than the first contractor realized.  Some things he told me were necessary, since my yard is severely slanted down hill, made me realize that the first contractor had underestimated the job.  The first contractor also wanted half the money upfront.  I began to feel quite uneasy.  My wife and I discussed the bids and decided based on Loren's reputation that we would go with LG Dirtbusters.  Our experience turned out to be very positive.  Loren and his crew were very prompt and professional in every thing they did.  They worked meticulously, paying attention to detail, and gave me a beautiful driveway and retaining wall.  My neighbors are envious.  I highly recommend Loren and his guys for any concrete and, I believe, even asphalt needs you may have.  You will not regret hiring a true professional!

The biggest difference in my choosing LG Dirtbusters over the other companies was Loren.  He was very professional and offered up a lot of advice and helpful tips about the job at hand where the other companies just wanted to measure, quote and hopefully get the job.
The expertise of Loren and his crew was more than I expected...they were all very meticulous and precise in every part of the job.  They were also very neat in how they set up equipment and left the yard as good as it was when they got there.  Speaking of equipment, Loren had the right type equipment and tools to properly perform the tasks.  There were never any issues about the work being doing.  The job was completed in 1 1/2 days thanks to good weather. When I observed my neighbor's driveway being done by the other company, I could tell that they weren't quite as prepared and as professional as Loren's crew.
My wife and I are ecstatic about the work performed and how much better the front of the house looks now...no more cracks and broken concrete.  So if you are looking for great quality and professionalism, and not just price shopping, LG Dirtbusters is the way to go.  Remember, "you get what you pay for" and we gladly paid Loren for new driveway and walk.

On the promised date, Loren and his crew arrived at 7:30am with all the equipment at our back door as agreed. We had the area cleared and they set to work at once, taking measurments and digging out the patio area. He found some small trouble spots we hadn't noticed before, (concrete flashing that had to be chipped out from the house wall) but his crew worked as a team and quickly got the area prepared, leveled, and the forms in place. Some fill dirt had to be brought out to fill in some low spots but he already had it available. Before going to lunch, Loren made a final check and discovered one board had moved out of place. He adjusted the form until it was correct before sending his crew to eat.
When the patio form was ready, his crew worked on the driveway apron, making adjustments to fit what we already had in place until we all were satisfied. He honestly wanted a good quality job done and even though he had some rough areas to work around, he showed us how he could modify the new job to blend in well.
When the concrete arrived, his crew went to work pouring, leveling and floating it smooth. As soon as the patio was poured, half of his crew went to the driveway project while the other half edged and finished the first slab. While the driveway slab was going in, Loren showed me how he could blend the angles of our crooked sidewalk to the new pour to eliminate any tripping hazard.
His crew are all very professional and friendly, talking with us while they worked and making sure that we not only knew what they were doing but answering our questions when we asked, "Why is this being done that way?"
Harrison was very knowledgable about concrete and listened to what I wanted done before adding the final touches to both slabs. Shane came to me with some problems he found concerning access to the backyard for the larger machines they used. When I gave him permission to take out some scrub trees and bushes, he used the skid-loader to not only remove the obstacles, but he filled in the holes they left.
Even after I considered the two projects finished, Loren and his crew continued working, adding more finishing touches to both slabs, using floats, trowels, brooms, etc until we now have a patio and driveway apron to be proud of. They cleaned up the area of all tools and leftover material when they were done and Shane used the skid-loader to finish leveling the ground surrounding the patio slab and driveway apron. Loren would not accept final payment until we were both satisfied with the work. The best thing I could see about LG Dirtbusters is, Loren works right along with his crew from start to finish and he doesn't accept 'good enough' nor does he cut corners. The price is slightly higher than other companies but in the long run, it was money well spent.

The job was done in 1 day, they came in the morning, dug and formed for patio and sidewalk. Poured the cement, put brush finish, job was complete.

Working with Loren and his crew was a pleasure.  From the estimate to the final product, we knew we were working with professionals.  They were here when they said they'd be and finished in the time estimated.  We were delayed a few days in getting the work started due to rain but there's no controlling the weather. And,as my husband said, when the guys showed up in high top rubber boots, you knew they knew about concrete.  (The previous crew showed up in flip flops and tennis shoes.)  Loren gave us a reasonable estimate (which had to change as shown above) - not high, not low - but certainly reasonable for the work involved. Unlike some companies where the owner gives the estimate and then sends a crew to do the job without his supervision, Loren is right there the entire time, running the power skid or the little bulldozer.  He was also very concerned about his equipment damaging our grass. He kept apologizing and did his best to minimize the tracks caused by the machines. They did a great job pouring and finishing the concrete and cleaned up the entire work area completely - even blowing off the driveway out front to get off dirt that had fallen off the truck. The patio looks terrific and drains perfectly! And the entire crew were very friendly and nice and a pleasure to have on the job.  I can't recommend Loren and LGDirtbusters highly enough!  Whether you've got a small job or large one, call Loren and have him do the work.

Loren came out to quote my pool deck renovation (tear out old, install new) and took the time to listen to my concerns (it was a very complicated job due to the placement of the pool and drainage factors) and also shoot elevations on the spot which demonstrated to me a willingness to sell the job with a thorough approach rather than a lowball number.  He was, unbeknownst to him, the most expensive quote I received but corollary experience in the building industry has taught me to not rule someone out on that criteria alone.  Loren arrived on time, finished on time, and came in on budget - no excuses, no BS .  It is refreshing to have the guy running the business actually sell the job and manage it fully till completion; he wouldn't accept the balance till I was fully satisfied.  I will not hesitate to use LG Dirtbusters again and plan to do so in the near future.

VERY WELL. Homeowners!! We all have the uncomfortable fealing of calling a contractor when you are unsure if you will be treated right or fairly. For concrete purposes you don't have to worry with Loren. LG will do it right for a fair price and you can have peace of mind throughout the entire process. Loren and the guys at LG are very professional and experienced. Very easy to work with and great communicator.

Everything was done well, including leveling and preparing the base for the concrete.  We were very satisfied.  We contacted this company based on a referral from an acquaintance who also was satisfied with their work.  The owner also showed us photos of work his company had done previously in the area, so we were able to go see the results after time had passed since the work was done.
