SOUTHERN GARDENS AT SUMMERVILLE NURSERY

The new tree line is exactly as promised and specified.  Southern Gardens even stood by the quote of the trees (provided by a local  nursery ) in the event that the timing of the contract resulted in a price increase by the nursery.  The tree line is intact and growing with the HOA responsible for its future.
Mr. Joseph, the owner, was there every step of the way.  He gave credibility to his company's offer by  being the one on the scene to insure our mutual success.

Original foundation planting was done by John Henry back in approx 2000. I continue to add plantings in my very large yard.
John Henry does a great job with reasonable prices. His particular strength is basic plants that are very well proven to survive our particular climate and soils.

We moved to the area in September, and were constantly passing Southern Gardens on our route to and from our house. They have the most beautiful morning glory vines trellised near the road, and we decided we'd stop in when we were ready to talk landscaping. We stopped in to speak to someone about local plants in December, and met the owner Jon Irick. He gave us a great deal of information about the area and indicated that he could do a consultation on our landscaping needs when needed. In early March we stopped by to set up a time for a consultation. Quite a few of the plantings we'd inherited with the property were not doing well, and we wanted him to see them and give us some information about whether they were in the wrong place or just the wrong plants altogether. He set up an appointment for a few days later, came out right on time, and spent about an hour with us, sharing lots of great information about the plants themselves, good pruning practices and about other local plants that we could use in the yard and flower beds. Our most critical need at that time was for plantings across the back of our property to give us some privacy, as a 2+ story house was just being constructed behind ours. He suggested Leyland cypress. It was determined that we'd need 6 cypress, and we also opted to have a Savannah holly to balance the one at the other end of our property. He brought a crew and very nice 15 gal. trees out on a Saturday morning. They did all soil prep, planted the trees, and he came back and cut out an area for mulching and mulched 2 days later. The crew started the job Saturday morning, and it started raining about a half hour into the job. Everyone kept on working until they were done, even though it was really coming down, and it took about an hour while it was raining. This review is being written not quite 1 month after the trees were planted. They look great, and we're very happy with our association with Southern Gardens and their work. I have a feeling that our project was a very small one for Southern Gardens, but we were never treated like it was.

I have a half an acre and they trimmed everything in both the front and back. They were here for two days cleaning up my garden. I was very impressed and I will continue to exclusively hire Southern Garden for all my lawn service.
