Michael B.
May 2012
This company was subcontracted via Home Depot (the money was actually paid to Home Depot). The arrived and installed the cabinets in a timely fashion. The installers were extremely nice and professional. Everything appeared to be good to go at first. After their departure, the countertops were installed (different subcontractor). Once the countertops were in, we noticed that the slide in stove did not fit like it should. The legs on the stove were retracted as far as they could go, but the unit was sitting higher than the countertop surface creating a void for liquids and food to fall into.
We contacted Home Depot and requested that this be corrected. Ship Shape arrived and had their installer raise the cabinets by shimming under the cabinets. This required the countertops to be removed, all of our dishes to be relocated (again), and the plumbing to be disconnected (again). Ship Shape did, in fact, provide a plumber to reconnect the water this time, but we were inconvenienced with no water in the kitchen for over 24 hours (had to wait on the countertops to be reinstalled and the caulk to dry before they would reconnect it).
With everything back together, we slid the stove in, and the unit still doesn't sit right. The left side is sitting on the counter top, but the right side is not. Again, we contacted Home Depot. They are now blaming the flooring for not being correct (also installed by a subcontractor of Home Depot, feedback posted in a different review).
On the good side, they came back today and did attempt to correct the crown molding (still not done correctly, though) and they have always been here when they said they would be here (on time). They wouldn't be able to fix it without removing the top cabinets and redoing the installation, which I'm assuming they are not willing to do at this point. I'm not willing to move any more dishes nor have my family further inconvenienced at this point, either. He filled in the large gap at one of the corners with a wax filler. It looks decent, but if I wanted a half-assed job, I would have just done this all myself.
