Pit Stop Svc Ctr

Had my car towed from Tread Quarters to Pit Stop in Goose Creek because they claim to handle internal repairs to engines. Once delivered, they informed me I had a lower end engine issue (crank shaft failed) and I needed a new engine. Quoted me 7500.00!!! Tread Quarters already quoted 5200 for the same engine so I had it towed back. After engine was replaced, mechanic inspected my engine and it was a collapsed lifter. Not the crank shaft. I couldn't get upset with TQ because they informed me up front they do not handle internal repairs.

I have been going to the Pit Stop for over 10 years - the one in Goose Creek and this one on Main Street in Summerville. The mechanics are always very professional and knowledgeable. They are also very honest, and don't do things that don't need to be done. They go out of their way to help me get the most for my money. For example, one time the lock was broke on the driver's side door. The mechanic thought it would have to be replaced, but he was able to fix it without replacing it, which saved me a lot of money. 
This time I had to have the A/C compressor replaced. It ended up costing more than I expected, because the car is a Saturn and they don't make them anymore, so the parts are expensive and hard to find. But they did an excellent job! They were quick, too. It was done by 1:00 pm. 
It's nice to have a auto service center that you can trust, and I highly recommend the Pit Stop Service Center!

Fanatastic from start to finish. Had intial estimate of $430 for just the plug change / tune up plus $50 for each plug that may break off. This is a known problem on this make vehicle. Other estimates start at $800 dollars plus $160 per hole for a plug that may break. Was told that it may be more then $50 if tools that ford recommends wouldn't work. Actually it worked out that one plug broke and it cost me an additional $125 instead of $50 as the service center had to have machinest come on site to tap the the plug out. I was called and told he could try himself, but didn't feel comfortable trying to extract the plug as it was really frozen, would prefer a professional do it he could try...but could end costing more. I had read about the nightmares with maybe having to remove the head to get broken plugs out and decided to take the machinest aproach. This is actually something Ford Motor company needs to address. Should have been a recall on these spark plugs that were used. At 100,000 miles which is the recommended time interval, they are frozen in the block. I had mine changed at 98000. This technician named corey has a technique that works really well but is very time consuming. I would recommend this person to all. Straitforth and very honest. He will have all my business in the future. The shop is also one of the most emaculate and well maintained I have ever seen
