I'm writing this review as a result of last night when I experienced several unusual electrical occurrences at my house. I emailed them (it was after hours) and within 5 minutes received a phone call from them. I explained the situation and he (the owner) told me that I needed to call SCEG and what I should tell them. I emailed him again regarding the result of the call to SCEG and with a minute or two received another call from the owner to assure me that he was available if any additional assistance was needed. He had been working long hours due to the recent storm here but called me twice during after hours on Friday night and was patient, professional and thorough in explaining the situation. I would highly recommend using Miscellaneous Electrical Services.

I forgot to leave a review for Mr. Woods. He did an excellent job putting up my ceiling fans. He was professional and courteous. Would use him again when needed and I highly recommend him. I was afraid of being taken advantage of, but he was on pointe and did an absolutely excellent job.

It went very well. The owner of the business agreed to fit me in as soon as he could, working around other jobs he had lined up. I called him on Friday and he was able to come out on Monday, the 12th of September.

When I first called Mike, I explained our situation. I told him that we were selling the house and had a few items to be completed on the repair addendum. I mainly wanted a quote but he said he would try to get out to see the work in between some jobs. At that point he was scheduled two weeks out so this was the earliest possibility we had to getting a quote. Within two days I got a call that an opening came up and if I would be around and willing to take it. So, of course I did! He gave me first shot at the opening and even worked with me on a 20 minute delay due to running errands. As soon as Mike arrived I showed him where things were and showed him the repair request again. He went straight to work and even took the time to explain to me what the inspector was talking about and how he is going to fix it. Mike then went on with his work and fixed everything that was asked. He even double checked all of the outlets for us to make sure they were secure! My interaction with Mike was probably the best I have ever had. He was polite, courteous, and really knew what he was doing. If my husband and I weren't moving we would definitely use him in any future electrical issues. I highly recommend Miscellaneous Electrical because they were the best company to go with. I contacted a couple of other companies that either never answered my message or they only gave me phone/email quote. Mike took time to come out and look at things and then made sure it was okay for him to start doing the work. That's what I call a true professional.

Everything went great and he will now be my go to electrician

I have had an ongoing electrical issue that resulted in many lost appliances and equipment over the last couple years. The electric company tested and found I needed an additional ground. I hired Mike based on Angie's List reviews. He was not the cheapest, but he is a master electrician and since other electricians had not found my problem, I decided it would be worth the extra money. I was correct. He got extensive background information, looked at my whole system and found most of my problem was a simple fix of tightening many wires in the two boxes, which had backed off over the years or had never been tightened properly. He also installed the additional ground that was suggested by the electric company. He even suggested I might be able to save some money by waiting to see if the tightening of the wires would fix my problem. I chose to go ahead and have him put the rod in. Further, he told me to contact him if the problem continued because he would contact the electric company to discuss with them solutions he felt might help from their end. On top of it all, he is just a nice guy :) I will use him again for future electrical needs and will have him come out every few years , for preventative maintenance, to check the wires in the panel to see if they have backed off again. He gave me quite an electrical education while working and did not mind me watching over his shoulder to see what he was doing.

Professional and knowledgeable

I called Mike to check out two GFCI outlets which weren't working in a bathroom.  (Mike had replaced an outdoor electrical receptacle at a condo I own last year.)  Mike examined them and found one was simply defective but the other had wiring issues that were actually dangerous.  Mike straightened out the wiring situation to make it safe and installed a new GFCI outlet.  Mike was punctual, very professional and friendly. I will definitely be using him again in the future.

Mike did a thorough inspection of our breaker panel, and although the end result indicated a plumbing problem and not an electrical problem, he assured us through his methodical testing that the breaker panel and bussbar were in good working condition. 

Eliminating an electrical problem, Mike then inspected our water heater and after verifying the voltage was adequate, found that the upper and lower thermostats were set at a lower temperature than normal use would warrant.  He subsequently made a slight adjustment to the upper and lower thermostat settings.

Mike spent additional time explaining what the possible issues were with the water heater and what may have caused our loss of hot water.  He also gave us a detailed explanation, in writing, of what he had found on the service call and what steps he had performed to try to correct the problem, so that if we did have to call a plumber, there would be a clear record of what had been done. 

As always, Mike's approach to any problem we have had is so thorough.  He takes time to explain to us, verbally and in writing, what he has found/accomplished, and leaves a careful record of the service call for not only his records but our own.  This is the third time we have used his company and again we are satisfied customers.  Even though he came out so quickly, he did not charge us for emergency service.

Mike is such a professional.  I have used him several times and he always does a great job.  He had the ceiling fans switched out in 45 minutes, cleaned up and gone!  I wouldn't use any other electrician!  Thanks Mike!

Mike was a true professional. I called for help on an electrical problem, he came right away, and within 30 minutes he had the problem fixed. He did a great job, and explained everything he was doing. I would highly recommend he for repairs.
