Hardwood Flooring Service

Lowes sent out a contractor from Keller Floors to put in floating hardwood floors . We did all the prep work, took up all old floors to save money. That was fine but he didn't come back for two weeks; to put in the transition pieces and we noticed the next day that several floor planks were scratched badly in the kitchen area. I had company coming and needed the floors finished. We put back all the molding, as was the arrangement; but it took longer to get him back and we had to go to Lowes and complain about the scratched floors, etc. A Keller representative called on Thursday, the day before the scheduled work to be done on Friday and canceled on us. The worker did not come back until Monday and finally finished the transitions and fixed the damaged floor planks. We are happy with the end results; but not happy that we paid Lowes; but had to deal with the contractor Keller. The man that did the floors did a good job; his boss did not.

They offer a military discount. They delivered the appliances to our home. The refrigerator did take a little longer because it was not in stock when we purchased it. We always have a fine experience with Lowe's.

It went beautifully and my husband really likes Lowe's. It is excellent to go with them and for everything. They did everything and it took a long time to take everything up and it's a whole day. They did a good job in cleaning up, they took care of everything and everything looks great. They're very professional.

The contractor Lowe's provided was Keller Interiors, Inc. I can't say enough about the two men who installed our new carpet, which consisted of living room, 3 bedrooms, and all closets. They even did a great job cleaning up and discarding of all our old carpet. True professionals. Their work was excellent and we are receiving many compliments on it. The quality of the carpet is excellent also. The salesman from Lowe's spent a lot of time with us explaining the different types of carpets. I would definitely recommend carpet purchases from Lowe's and installation by Kellar Interiors, Inc.

I contacted the Lowes millwork installed sales rep. for Dorchester Rd. store, a man named Trampus. Another man, the installer met me at the townhome and measured the windows and door for replacement. Trampus punctually came to my home twice to review which windows met code for the area, as well as to discuss what styles and sizes would work. He went out of his way to make this large project affordable. Trampus also identified and pointed out a concern about the patio door possibly not fitting as the horizontal opening appeared to be very tight . He presented several scenarios, among them a) that the door would fit fine, b) that framing/masonry adjustments would have to be made or c) that we would find the door unable to fit at all. Trampus contacted Angelo who said he was confident that he could make it work (ruling out scenario c) but Trampus put in a $300 contingency cost above and beyond the standard patio door installation should removing or replacing framing materials or chipping away at the masonry be necessary. It was understood that if the door fit fine this additional charge would be refunded.
Once the materials arrived at the store, a woman named Nicole called to verify and let me know I should be hearing from the installer within 48 hours. Unfortunately, I didn't hear from the installer for 4 days. We scheduled the install for the 23rd and I was told they would arrive between 8 and 9 am. The window installers arrived first, shortly after 9. However, there was a wait for the materials and the door installers to arrive.
By 10:20 the door installers were able to perform a rough fit of the patio door and I was relieved to note (and photograph) that it was a tight but manageable fit. After removing the pre-installed brick mold from the door, there was less than a quarter inch of room on either side and a couple inches of space at the top, to be filled in with filler material. I noticed one small discrepancy regarding which door operated but I acknowledge that I must have agreed to the instock model opening as they had it delivered. It wasn't a big deal, but since Trampus and I had discussed the side to open, he probably should have caught this. Nicole from Lowes returned my call promptly so we could discuss this. After providing them a lockset, the installers put that on, allowed me to inspect and test the door and lock and they were finished at just about noon. I was able to take the keys and make copies at the local Lowes for my tenants by 12:30.
I'm very pleased with the workmanship of the door and windows. Other than the caulking under the door being a little sloppy I'm very pleased with their work. I did have to ask them to remove some sticker residue from the windows and door.
However, after the work was done I left a message with Trampus regarding the contingency cost for the door installation. When he returned my call he indicated that the door installers said they had done masonry work and that he'd been told that that whereas a typical patio door installation might take a couple guys 2 1/2 hours to do this took them 4 1/2 hours. I was able to sit down with Nicole to establish a timeline of the work, starting from between 9:15-9:30 and a phone call home as I left after the door installation was concluded and finally a 12:35 store receipt for the keys being copied to show that their work was right in approximately 2 1/2 hours. Additionally, I was able to show photos of the rough fit of the door and photos now to show that no noticeable masonry work had been done to the 37 year old bricks! After seeing the timeline and photos Lowes reasonably agreed to refund that additional charge.
It's difficult to know whether it was a misunderstanding between the installer and Trampus or perhaps the installer or his workers were less than upright. However, If I were not there taking occasional photos and observing the work, they would have gotten away with unreasonably charging an additional $300. It's because of this that I indicate poor professionalism. Not all homeowners can afford the time to watch over the workers so carefully and I would advise cautions if you can't be there.
I'm pleased with Trampus and NIcole at Lowes who were professional throughout the process, even coming up with the idea of establishing a verifiable timeline of the phone calls and receipts to demonstrate that the 4 1/2 hours didn't appear to be consistent. I would work through Lowes again but I'd probably make sure to take even more photos and note timings more thoroughly.

Their employees were on time, answered all our questions, were very professional in the way they treated us and our property. They did an amazing job from start to finish, working quickly and efficiently. We were originally told that the job would probably take 2 days, but they even stayed late the first day to finish so that we would not be inconvenienced by having to miss work the second day. They cleaned up all of the mess they made installing the floors, even sweeping and mopping after completion. A few days after they left, we noticed a couple of spots where the floor would pop when you walked on it (not their fault, caused by uneven concrete slab laid by the homebuilders), and we called them to schedule them to come back out and fix it. They worked around our work schedules so we didn't have to miss work, even staying late to do the repair. The repairs consisted of drilling a tiny hole in the plank, and applying a special epoxy to fill in the gaps that were causing the problem. You can't see where they drilled, and now there is no popping. All in all, the best experience we have had with contractors so far. We are planning to have wood floors installed next in our 3 bedrooms, and these are the guys we're going to call. Great Job!
