We've used Low Country Tree Service on various tree removals and trimming over 5 years. We were always pleased with the service, however, apparently LCTS has grown too large and Chad Crosby is too busy to complete a tree and stump removal that was started in December of last year. The tree was removed just fine but that's where the service took a U turn. Because their large grinder was in the shop, they used some small grinder that couldn't handle the stump. Because of this, only part of the stump was ground down and they left 1/2 of the stump covered in shavings. As of this review, they still don't have their grinder back after more than 5 months, C'mon, Really? And the ridiculous thing is that Chad won't respond to my texts asking him to hire the job out(he offered to do this) and finish the job to our satisfaction or return $200 out of the $2,000 I paid, so I can get another company to finish the stump grinding. Still no response. Just a heads up: Think long and hard before you make the decision to use Low Country Tree Service. The job just might not be completed. As for us, we will be using another tree company from now on.

Low Country Tree Service was recommended by another tree removal service after they determined that they would be unable to safely remove the large 112 foot pine tree. I was told that Low Country Tree Service wasn't the cheapest company, but they certainly had the equipment and qualified personnel to perform the job and the owner was very professional. I contacted Chad Crosby, owner of Low Country Tree Service and he visited my home to evaluate and provide a quote for removal of a 112 foot 40 inch circumference pine tree and a 8 inch circumference water oak attached at the base of the pine tree. We had a great conversation as he determined what it would take for the removal of the tree. He gave me a quote that was within the amount I envisioned it would cost. He told me that I didn't pay for the service until all work was accomplished and I was satisfied with the work. We shook hands and he asked me to request a tree removal permit from Hanahan, and he would set up arrangements for the job to be accomplished. On the day of removal his employees arrived and explained the steps thoroughly and answered all my questions. They were friendly and professional throughout their time at my home. Chad made a visit to check on progress and came a few days after the job to ensure I was completely satisfied with their work. I told him I was very pleased and thanked him for the professionalism of his crew. My neighbors also made positive comments about the skills of the Low Country Tree Service personnel, especially my next door neighbor whose house was most endangered by the pine tree.

Very happy with the job, pruned a lot of limbs which help when the hurricane came through. Clean-up was very good, friendly, good natured crew. Never did get an invoice for the extra money I owed, but this was after the storm and I assumed he was working 14 hour days to catch up with all the work he had. Finally after about 3 weeks I mailed him a check for the original estimate and asked him to contact me for any additional money I might owe him for the job. I got an email soon after and paid him for the additional work.

They did a good job with tree service. However, the follow-up was poor because the supervisor said he would be back to check the work and pick up his check. He never showed and did not respond to the e mail my husband sent. After 3 weeks, we mailed the check to him.
