We were pleased. They were talking about $35 a foot, and this seem to be a going rate. We had a wood deck, and the rain would fall on the wood deck. The wood threshold under the door coming off the gutter had rotted. I got to replace the threshold. There is no telling what is underneath it. I got a cross section of the gutter that was left in the yard, and the thickness of the material and coating they put on it. It blew me away. They said it was a heavy duty. They showed up with two really nice trucks, well done. I looked in the truck, and they were full of equipment. I don't want to say anything bad. It was four guys who got out of the trucks, who knew what they were doing. They worked at 9:30 until 4:30. Normally you will see people show up with tubing benders. It appeals to the small entrepreneurs handyman. It has the scale of thickness of form. You get get by with a lighter machine. I can't imagine those two trucks were inexpensive. I got hickory trees, and big hickory nuts. That is the problem we have asphalt shingles. The new hickory nuts go bang. They fall fast, and it use to be a hickory forest, before golf people came. The car gets dents every time those nuts hit. This is steel and aluminium. If money is not an issue, to heck with it. I think it will help increase the value of the home, and less time worrying about spending three thousand. You might as well not even have any on there. They were on time, and the guy who came to see us had all the competitors, they do a competitor's box, and when he is through, you got a pretty overall picture. This guy had his act together. The other thing is I asked them to extend the gutters away from the house. He did a good job getting the downspouts away from the house. You won't have to have that black pipe at the end. I would use them as long as I can afford it.

The gutters on the second floor were always collecting leaves even though I flip them to empty the leaves. Also the drop pipes were all clogged with no rain flow. The two workers removed the old gutters and drop pipes and replaced them with new ones and the same color as the house color. They removed the old gutters and drop pipes from the properity and were done in four hours.

The job was done very professionally and on time.  The gutters look great and do what they are supposed to do.  The installer left
some old screws from the old gutter in the driveway.  I picked them up.  No harm done.

First, they took 7 weeks just to show up with the gutters.  Then, they missed part of the job, and because I had prepaid they left before I noticed.  The worst part is when they were gone I picked up 20 nails and screws off of the dog ramp.  My 130lb dogs go running down that ramp at high speeds on a regular basis.  They didn't bother to pick up these nails and screws that were left from the job.  I later found another nail and sent a letter.  They contacted me back and gave me a 20% refund which I will probably use to buy a metal detector to make sure that my dogs are not still at risk.

Actual install went very well. Technicians were onsite when they said they would be and work was performed well in just a few hours.
Scheduling was a bit problematic as the install time was projected for 7-8 weeks from the date the service was ordered. Leafguard stated that this was because they are so busy. Perhaps adding another team or two might help?
Overall I am satisfied with the services provided.

Entire installation went well. They came on time and were responsive to my needs and directions. They returned approximately six months later to repair a section of gutter that was damaged by a falling branch and did not charge me for the service call. Throughout the experience the owner, Jeff Bernard was very professional and courteous.

The gutters were overflowing and because there are tons of pine trees around, the gutters were full.  Their recommendation was to get Leaf Guard Gutters which would prevent the needles (or at least most of time) from filling up the gutters; also recommended larger corners so that there was space for heavy rain to puddle while going down the spout--rather than spilling over and slamming into the windows and patio below.  The young man in charge was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain  the process to me.  Really fine work.  Recommend very highly--the best I have had thus far.

They did very well. They did exactly what they said they would do. They left me an estimate. It shows they did precisely what they wanted to do. They added the gutters in the front because of a water flow problem and damage in the front. By all indications that has corrected my problem.

Cost for these gutters is approximately double regular gutters. They showed up on time and installed in one day. After the first rainfall, it was apparent that the gutters were not handling the water. Water was overrunning in the middle and ends both in the front of the house and the back of the house, creating trenches. When we called to ask them to come back and look at it, we were told that they do not guarantee that there will not be overruns at the valleys. At the time of signing the proposal, I was specific about whether their standard 4" size gutters would handle the pitch and size of our roof run off, since previously we had 6" gutters that worked just great. I was assured that it would be fine. There is a place on their contract for you to initial that you understand that overshooting at valleys etc is possible. I specifically did not initial this, as he told me it would be fine. After numerous calls he sent his installer to check it out, and the installer said that he had not put enough slope on some of it, so he corrected that. It did not correct the situation. Many calls later the owner came out and inspected the job. He accused us of having someone else on the roof that had bent up the gutters. The only person on the roof had been his installer. He did send his installer back to add two more downspouts, and some diverters, which helped the situation, but did not completely remedy it. Our previous standard 6" gutters worked much better.
Response from LeafGuard of the Lowcountry
"This report not only came as a surprise, but is also very confusing because of the efforts we made to address the customers concerns. It upsets me to get a report like this. We try hard to do just the opposite! Yes, they are more expensive, but ALL covered systems are. You spend more so that you don't have the maintainence. I do not avoid calls of any kind, and a response was made to all of her concerns in a timely manner. Not only did I respond, but I sent out a crew on the next Saturday to address all concerns (including reconfiguring downspouts from an addition on the back of the house). They were satisfied with the work that was done and I have not heard anything since 2008 until I read this report. I met with the customers after reading this and the only places of concern were areas on the house where approximately 600sq. ft. of roof feeds to a very small area which overshoots in heavy rain. I DO NOT assure anyone that the gutter will work perfectly in these conditions. In fact, I do just the opposite and its in big print on the front of the contract. I spoke with Member about these areas and how we might be able to improve them. He was going to monitor the situation and call me back . I have had no response. I would be proud to show this job to anyone."
