Jay Maxwell Music by Request, LLC

I hired Jay Maxwell's Music by Request for my husband's birthday party. They had very good reviews online and almost all mentioned Jay Maxwell specifically. When I booked the date, I asked for Jay to DJ and was told he would do it if he was available. When I called to pay the balance before the party, I was told it would be a different DJ. I wasn't too worried since I assumed any DJ would know how to get the party going and get people on the dance floor. Unfortunately, the music he was playing wasn't working. And my guests really wanted to dance! I provided a play list but he only played two songs and then reverted back to his own list. He just couldn't get the party going and wasn't interactive with the crowd at all. Finally, a bunch of my guests put another playlist together, which he then stuck to, and everyone was dancing. I've never complained to a company after a service, I just wouldn't go back. But this time, I decided to email my contact at Jay Maxwell's Music by Request to let her know my experience. I hated the thought of someone ending up with this guy for a wedding reception. I didn't recieve a response. I didn't expect a discount but I did expect an email back with some type of explanation or apology. I think that was the most disappointing part of the whole experience. It appears they have my money and don't really care about the quality of service I received.

The wedding was at an outdoor chapel. They played the wedding music, which I was worried about because we were outside, but it sounded good. They took care of all the sound issues at the wedding with the soloist and the guitarist. They had a great selection of music. Darius did a good job at the reception, as well.
