On the day of the job I saw Billy in the morning and gave him half down, then the Mexican crew went to work. I feel it's fair to mention that they were all Mexican, we prefer to buy and hire American. Frank came out that day and assured me everything was fine but I was very unhappy that he told me I had to calm down and asked if I had a bad experience with another contractor in the past (which I did) and he told me I had to stop and was annoyed (I was asking if things were going they way they should be as I didn't see them ripping up all the old paper as was explained to me, but rather getting the white paper down quickly). I felt very upset when he said that because where I come from the customer is always right. I called Billy but did not get an answer back and even texted Frank to see about getting a price on a couple windows. and I was told that he "would get to me" , well bless his heart. He never did contact me back again for the windows and we don't want them back out here when they treat people that way. Maybe it's because I'm a woman, who knows, but women DO talk to their husbands, and many, like me, make the hiring decisions.. and write the ratings.
They did clean up most of the nails very well, we only found a few.
GAF was late inspecting the roof (2 months late ~that was not communicated to us) Nice looking roof if you can stand Frank and don't mind hiring Mexicans. I really have nothing personal against them I will always ask on large jobs going forward.
So, in short, the roof gets an A and the rest is just disappointing.

Arrived as scheduled and completed as agreed. GREAT JOB! Prompt and very professional. We love the color coordination. My neighbors have given compliments. We've seen two persons copying information from the Homewerx sign in the yard. Job well done!

We may not give the cheapest quotes or estimates, but the quality of our workmanship as well as the products we use by far outweigh cheaper work or products. "Thank you for the opportunity to respond! As stated before, no we are not the cheapest company in town.... but neither is our level of workmanship, or products that we use. The "added security" is what we strive for every customer to have. As we have stated before.... the old saying "you get what you pay for" and that is so very true with us. The additional cost for top notch work and products might not be found with the lowest bid.... and could cost you more in the long run. As with most of our contracted jobs, there might be small details and/or issues that come up that need to be taken care, and we don't add any additional costs for those things if they fall within the scope of being reasonable. We were happy to be able to assist you! The owner is a gracious man..... sometimes the clash of personalities will surface, but all in all we always try to maintain a level of professionalism. "First, we would like to take this opportunity to say how much we appreciate being able to respond to this review. It is our standard and procedure that we do not take any money upfront, all monies are paid AFTER the completion and satisfaction of a contracted job. All work and the costs of all work are gone over and agreed to before any work is ever started. We do not have any hidden fees, or additional costs that are added in later on, our contracted amount is our bottom line. Therefore, we are quite honestly, very surprised at the low ratings on this review, based on his own statement that we did a "good job". If he noticed anything else later on, we would have gladly addressed any issues if he had contacted us. We completed everything that we were contracted to do as well other tasks that we did not charge him for. When we spoke with the client we agreed to arrive within a one hour window, accidents and/or constructions are not in our control, we arrived within minutes of the agreed upon time. The client did not appear to be upset or have anything negative to say upon arrival. We welcome him back as a future customer and regret that he did not address any of his concerns with us before leaving this type of review. Thank you again for the opportunity to address this matter. We pride ourselves on our work ethic and customer satisfaction, however, we must be notified if there is an issue of any kind in order of us to rectify or address it. We would be more than happy to return to any home if there is anything we can do to have a more positive working experience with us. Thank you....."
"First we would like the thank you for the opportunity to address this matter. We have reviewed our files and believe that Mr. [member name removed], unknowingly, has confused us with another company. We in fact did a repair for Mr. [member name removed] but it was over a year and a half ago, not April of this year. If Mr. [member name removed] is referring to that repair; there are still discrepancies in that we would not have taken any payments until the contracted work was completed and our customer is satisfied. We have never asked for down payments to secure jobs and we are never paid until the job is completed. This has been our company policy since Homewerx began servicing the Charleston area over ten years ago. The $500 dollars for the repairs that we did for him, were paid at the completion of our contract as normal procedure for us. We have never received a phone call, email, letter or any type of communication from Mr. [member name removed] since a year and a half go. If he had contacted us, we would have made every attempt to correct anything that we were responsible for. However, we sincerely feel that he has us confused with another company that did work for him in April of this year. We would like to be able to assist Mr. [member name removed] with any additional problems that he may have in the future and welcome any contact from him.
