The process started in November, I brought in a bracelet and asked if he could fix it.  He said he would have to try and get a part to do so.  I came back in December, and he had not found the part.  We came up with a solution together, and I then brought in two additional items for him to repair on 12/30/2011.  They said it would be done on January 10, 2012.  I came in on February 15 and the jewelry was not ready. He said he was not able to find the pin, however we had previously come up with a different solution. When I came back on 2/15/12 a month and a half later, I voiced my opinion that when he told me it would be an additional $20, I asked if he could give me a discount for having to wait so long.  He said, blah blah blah, I'm a very busy man.  It was clear that they did not care and were not giving me good service.   I reminded him of the solution we had come up with, and that I would come back for it the next day.  I paid for necklaces that he fixed that day in front of me, which should have already been done since he had them for 2.5 months.  He said he would fix the bracelet the next day.  I came back the next day and it was still not fixed, and he gave me an address to send it in to in order to resolve the problem.

My wife's engagement ring is a design that interweaves with the wedding band and has a solitaire diamond positioned over the connecting parts of the two rings. She wanted to replace the diamond with a larger one her mother had left her but wanted to keep the design of the rings intact. We thought this may be difficult, but the jeweler, after examining the diamonds and the setting, explained in detail what would have to be done to accommodate the larger diamond in that setting, and exactly how he would do it without affecting the overall design. We left feeling good about the whole experience.

The ring was ready as promised, and was exactly what we expected. It looked great and was a good fit getting it on and off, but when it had a tendency to rotate and turn under on her finger. The jeweler explained what he could do to fix that problem, we agreed, and when we picked the ring up a few days later it was perfect.

The repair of the gold chains is flawless. It requires a magnifying glass to find the repaired links. How do they do that?

Byrnes Jewelery has a friendly customer oriented atmosphere in general, but when the jeweler is explaining the details of what can or should be done to reset a diamond or repair a gold chain he is all business. At no time did we feel we were being "sold" on a course of action. It was clear we were being assisted by a professional.

All in all we were very satisfied with Byrnes Jewelery and would not hesitate to recommend Byrnes for any fine jewelery modifications or repairs. We were not shopping for new jewelery, but their display cases were full of beautiful pieces, and we will certainly shop there if we find ourselves in the market.

We also did not price-shop the work we had done, but given the overall professionalism of Byrnes Jewelery and the quality of the work we are very comfortable with the price. We would not hesitate to use Byrnes Jewelery again.  

 

 

I've used them twice. They were excellent. The charge for the watch was $25 and $150 for the rings. They were very professional. I would definitely recommend them and I would definitely use them again.

I wanted to purchase a fiftieth wedding anniversary ring for my wife. I ask Mr. Byrnes for some suggestions. He offered a variety of ring designs. We selected one ring design having five gems in a platinum setting. Mr. Byrnes obtained the stones and set the ring in his shop. The results was a unique anniversary ring of exceptional style and quality. The final price was slightly under his original quoted price for the ring. In all, I am totally satisfied with the service and quality from Byrnes Jewelry.
