I called Kevin and he came out the next day. He gave me an estimate and said that his guys could come out the next day and start. They did indeed come out the next day, right on time and finished in the two days they said they would. They did a wonderful job! Everything looked professional. He made a couple of recommendations of improvement for the work we wanted done and we followed them. Very, very happy with the work his company did and the professionalism that they had. everything was cleaned up nicely and they even did a couple of things that weren't on the list, but saw they needed doing so did it. Thanks so much Kevin. Really appreciate the work you and your guys did.

Mr. Ahearn is always on time.  He closely monitors the work and performs a lot of the work himself.  He and his staff clean up the area each day after they finish work.  We communicated frequently on the progress of the projects and discussed ideas.  All of the work was completed as promised and at the price that we agreed upon and in a timely manner.  Mr. Ahearn's work went above and beyond my expectations and I highly recommend him.

Kevin came over and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to re-skirt an area below my screened-in porch.  the mesh that was there had become broken over the years along with the wood degrading and was now letting vermin underneath.  it was causing a big flea problem around our porch.  Kevin originally gave me an estimate of $1300 and I thought that was a good price so I hired him.  he called me the day before to let me know that he could come over the next day.  his crew came over and worked almost all day, they were very polite.  They did a great job, and after he finished, he realized that it didn't cost him as much as he thought it would so lowered the price.   I was very pleased. 

I called Kevin and he got right back to me.  I explained what the problem was with the kitchen cabinet and he gave me an estimate.  I was satisfied with the price so had him go out and make the repair.  I am putting a house up for sale so I had a lockbox on the door.  He went out there at the time he said he would and made the repair.  I came over there after it was finished to take a look. I was very impressed by his work.  The underneath cabinet looked beautiful.  Thanks so much Kevin.

It went very well.  The brickwork required the most skill, and I was very satisfied with the outcome.  This contractor prefers small jobs in the Summerville area.

Did an excellent job.  Extensive water damage to floor supports, floor, and wall.  Basically rebuilt our kitchen and bathroom from he floor up.  was quite willing to work with us on payments when the job ran over initial estimates due to the damage being more extensive than was obvious from initial inspection.  plan on using him for some home improvements when i can afford them

Excellent. They have professionalism, timeliness, everything was great about them. I'm looking forward to do some more work with them. The experience I had with them was good.

They were very punctual and were on top of everything. The installers were great and they were very professional. They got the job completed in 3 days. They were very meticulous with cleanup and cleaned up every day. They also put a barrier around the area they were working so debris wouldn't get in other parts of the house.

We bought our 9 year old home 2 years ago. Shortly after we moved in, the large windows above our front door and over our garage started leaking. Initially we caulked the areas where the water was pooling up - although by the looks of the windows, this had been done many times. The first round of caulking lasted about 2 weeks. We then called out some 'handymen' to assess the situation, they each did their own version of a 'fix' which was basically to re-caulk the windows on the outside, one of the 'handymen' felt they should even caulk the 'drain holes'. After almost 2 years of having to bring in a ladder, place and remove towels after each rain storm, we called Kevin at Ahearn Construction.
I explained to Kevin what was happening. He felt confident he knew what was going on. A few days later, he came out and confirmed his initial thoughts. The windows were not 'seated' correctly when they were installed and because of the intense caulking that was done prior to us buying our home and the 'handymen' that came out after we bought our home, there were even more issues.
We set up a date for the repairs - unfortunately due to rain, this date was moved a few times. Kevin and his team - George and Anthony - came out on a Monday morning and finished up Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday morning - after a night of heavy rain - we still had some water issues (not nearly like before). I called Kevin and he immediately came over to check things out. After consulting with his team, they decided to take out both windows and reinstall them.
It's been almost 2 months now and we have not had any issues with leaking.
We would definitely call Kevin and his team (George and Anthony) in the future.

Kevin has done many jobs for us over the past 8 years including wood floors, fireplace repair, crawl space encapsulation, bookshelf design/build, and many others. Kevin enlists the help of trustworthy assistants to complete the job. For this job, Kevin used two helpers to remove the old siding and another, George, to install the new siding. George, like Kevin, is a long-time professional carpenter, woodworker, and handyman, and professional. They work well together.
This job took three days to complete. The work was done during normal hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Kevin ensured the roof and debris were removed daily to a scrap trailer he kept at the premises (with our permission) during the job. The old, somewhat rotten or bee-damaged cedar siding was cut out from under the eaves up to the soffet, which was wrapped with brown metal to match the house construction/paint scheme. Kevin and George ensured the new Hardiplank siding blended in with the preexisting/remaining cedar siding. They installed and painted step flashing where required to minimize future water damage.
Kevin is sensitive to the neighborhood homeowner's association covenants and restrictions and has never created any issues. Further, if dialogue or association approval is needed, Kevin will work those issues on our behalf if desired (not needed on this particular job).
All in all, it was another good experience with Kevin deserving of an enthusiastic recommendation.

They completed the work in a timely manner (with the exception of a couple of rain days).

As with all construction get an estimate. Ask for authorization before increasing the estimate (a given).
