Contractor came out and planted the three trees and constructed an approximate 12 x 3 foot elevated garden against the fence. During the construction, it was asked if he was going to brace the fence against the garden soil to prevent the weight of the soil from bowing out the fence and he stated 'that would not be necessary'. He said that the weight of the soil would not be that heavy. Within a month, the fence started to bow out and the wood used to build the terrace started to break. One of the tree's root ball came up from lack of soil and both birch trees contracted leaf spots and started dropping leaves. We called more than 4 times and sent more than several emails. He came by once stating that the garden was fine and cut holes into the fence for drainage and put dirt around one of the birch trees and stated he would come back out and finish repair on the garden and deal with the trees. That was 4 months ago and there has been no follow-up and no resolution.
