We first used GMH to outfit our house with Natural gas piping, and upgrading to a on-demand water heater, my review is already listed on Angie's List. A's across the board. We've used them to keep our old heat pump going since. And when it was time, had them install our entire HVAC replacement-- swap out our old heat pump (electric strip supplemental) with a higher efficiency heat pump and NG supplemental. We also had them replace our entire ductwork system. The old system came with the house, was bottom of the line and poorly installed. GMH did a fantastic job again! They arranged for 5yr interest free financing for almost the entire cost. Our cost savings alone will wash out the cost of the install, after 5 yrs, it's money in our pocket for the 20yr warrantied system. From Tom, the sales consultant, to David the crew foreman, to Vinnie to trainee, we've always been impressed with GMH. In the end, anyone can sell you equipment. It's the crew that makes or breaks a company. I can not speak highly enough of everyone that I have ever came in contact with. I was home during the entire installation process, often under the house with them doing other things. I expressed my concern with openning up my crawl space to make it easier to work under there. The old install was poorly planned, blocking access to areas under the house, and making other areas very difficult to access. From Tom in his design, to David and his crew installing, they made it their personal project, going the extra mile to address my concerns, looking at it like it's their house, and how _they_ would want it done for themselves. The quality of their work was impressive, too. They used hard insulated duct as much as they were able, three times as much as the prior install, making it much more durable and effective. Yet, they laid it out in a way that no part of the house was blocked to access. They showed me how their methods would avoid issues that we had with the old install. Using proper sealing materials, attaching those materials in more durable ways to prevent the system from falling apart over the years. And when they were done, our yard was cleaner that when they arrived. You could not tell they had a mound of junk piled there hours before! The heart of the system was a 20 efficient Trane Heat Pump with a natural gas supplemental heater. The unit has a 10/20 year warranty and just looks impressive compared to our old one. It's so quiet! It's all controlled by a Trane smart WiFi thermostat that works with my existing Google Home. I can just say "Hey Google Warmer" and my system increases the temperature 2 degrees. Cool! I also have it programmed into my "Good Night" and "good morning" routines, so it lowers the temperature on my command when I go to bed, and warms the house back up when I wake up. Better than just the scheduled option, for us, since we don't have a normal schedule. Once it was all done, and they left, my wife complained the house was too warm! She was used to our 110 year old house leaking air and not having enough heat to compensate! I had to turn the thermostat down :) . Actually I just had to say "Hey Google Cooler" Next, I'm prepping our attic for blown-in insulation- I'm sealing up air leaks, building walkways and dams to contain the insulation. Good heat is great, but keeping it in will save us even more money, obviously. When the time comes to get the insulation, GMH will be the first ones I call! I can't speak highly enough of this company. They are professional, give confidence, friendly and personable, and go the extra mile to do things right.

Company was called at 7:30 pm. Technician was at my house by 8:00 pm. Diagnosed and fixed my problem - a small leak - and left at 9:00 pm. It was 93 today and our house would have been miserable to sleep in tonight. Thanks to GMH, we will sleep in comfort. Could not be happier or more impressed with the service and responsiveness. The repairman was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. Most Highly recommend.

At first, not so well. Two issues were gas leak (scary); and uneven heat distribution. They responded quickly to resolve the gas leak. They had to come out twice to resolve the heat distribution in the house; basically they needed to adjust the dampers in the duck work. People were very friendly and great to work with; just wished it was done right the first time. This is our first experience with gas and having a Trane heating/cooling system. We're very happy with the finished product.

Goerge Hill & sons came within 24 hrs. and said that the unit was low in refrigerant, so I agreed to have them charge it with 2 lbs of Puron. It worked and a few day later the unit stopped cooling, we call them, this time they sent a young technician come to look into the problem, he said the refrigerant was low again and if we agree they would add a dye to the system to locate the leak. It turned out that the young technician was not familiar with the Carrier heatpump and didn't know how to check the refrigerant correctly. Another more senior technician sat in the van came out to check and said that the refrigerant was still full, what the problem was is the secondary pan was full and the switch tripped the unit to prevent spilling the water to my ceiling. They tried to unclog the secondary pan with compressed air and some tablets. The unit worked again, but not for long we found out that there were leaks on our ceiling, we called them again this time the technician said the switch that stops the unit when the secondary pan is full has failed and the unit didn't shut itself down. They also check the interior of the evaporator and said the plastic pan that catches the water from the coil has cracked. They gave me an estimate to replace that plastic pan would cost around $600 to $650 (3 hours labor). Of course we refused to do it since we rather replace the whole unit than just fixing the pan at that price. The technician used epoxy to seal the crack in the plastic pan and checked that the switch was wired correctly and left. We turned on the unit and 3 hours later we saw water dripping from our ceiling again. We call them and they said nothing they could do and suggested us to find somebody else to fix it.

The call went well. Service Tech was polite and did the job proficiently. Since it was very hot and my A/C was working we rescheduled a couple of times. Once because they were backed up and once because I had a scheduling conflict.  Was a little disappointed the cost of this trip was double what it was 2 years ago and the service was the same. But other than that, they are great. They installed a complete heating and A/C unit in my Mom's house a few years ago and it's was a good experience.

They were slow in getting out, they kept pushing us back and back, then they finally showed up and everything was alright after that. They cancelled a few times, then they didn't show up, and then they stopped responding. They finally showed up after I told them that I wanted my money back. They did not charge me anything more than the $49 of the big deal. I wasn't there, but my son said they were fine.

"Hello, I am sorry for the confusion and when I reviewed with the team the notes there was a communication problem and I am sorry about that! It is noted that you told the technician that you knew the compressor was bad which our test showed also the reason we suggested replacement on your 1997 Trane system is your heat strips had been shorted and the motor in your air handler was bad and you have exceeded the life expectancy of the unit. Again I apologize for the poor communication with you from our team and we have made improvement to assure this issue is resolved."

They removed all the old duct work which was a mess, installed new duct work. That took them 3 days, then the day after Thanksgiving they brought 250 gallons of heating oil pumped it into my drum. The oil was free!  I was & am very happy with this company.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the job that George M Hill did. I had a drop in water pressure and after some "self diagnosis" I decided the leak and loss of pressure was under ground. I called in to George M Hill and was met with the up most concern for my issue. I felt as if my issue was truly a priority for them and they put me right on the schedule. To my surprise the tech not only was on time but was even slightly early. The tech was professional and polite and very understanding of the issue and reassured me that they would get the problem taken care of. Needless to say I spent the entire time sweating bullets. I just knew this was going to be a very costly repair; not to mention the inevitable destroying of my entire front lawn to uncover the problem. I spoke with the tech about my concerns and he informed me that they had the proper tools (a leak detector) to find the leak and tearing up the entire yard would not be necessary. As promised they found the leak and used the excavator to dig right where the leak was. They fixed the leak in the section of pipe and covered the hole back and I felt made a little extra effort to put everything back as neat as possible. With a little grass seed In the surprisingly small section they had to dig, in just a short time you will never even be able to tell that there was any work done at all. The price I felt was more than respectable considering the treatment I received and the quality of work performed! Great job to all the staff at George M Hill. As far as I'm concerned you have my business for life, and any time I can recommend to a friend or neighbor you can bet I will! Keep up the fantastic work.

The most pleasant, knowledgeable and competent technician I have ever had work in my home arrived at 1:30P and would not leave until he had completed the installation and checked the system in every way possible at 6:00P. He was a young man whose manner and demeanor were exceptional.

I was impressed with their immediate response to come out, look at my house, and give a quote.  They were professional,  knowledgable and punctual.  I had immediate confidence in their ability to do the work.
The installation crew was well staffed, very professional, and courteous.  They initially responded with a quick installation time with-in my requested time frame and did the majority of work very efficiently.  The crew was very cognizant of keeping the house clean while going back and forth between the house and crawling under it.  They didn't hesitate to pull in a fast response from main office to get parts on-site to "do the job right" rather than "the quicker route of doing it with what they had".  Since much of the work involved gas lines, it was obvious that they took their job very seriously.  I have absolute confidence in a good well done.

If I had any complaints, it was a delay in getting everything on line.  Between mix ups with proper paperwork between the County and Piedmont Gas, there was a delay.  And then a scheduling issue with-in George Hill for final hook-up.  These mix-ups delayed completion by a little more than I would have wished.  They were very apoplectic, admitted their mistake, and quickly got us on line in the end. All in all, I am very impressed with George Hill, and would have given them "Straight As" across the board if it wasn't for the delays in the end.  They are a good bunch of guys and feel confident in their work ethic, knowledge and value.  They were not the cheapest quote we received, but were not the most expensive (by far, one contractor's quote was double!).
I will most certainly be using them in the future for any other mechanical work I need!
