They do carpentry work. They worked for me about 6 or 7 years ago. Did a beautiful job. Painted the outside of my house. Replaced a bunch, maybe a dozen or so, of wood boards in my wood deck and did a beautiful job and everything. So I asked them about 2 years ago, to come back and replace some more boards in my deck and to paint 2 of my rooms. It was horrible trying to get them to do the work. They finally got the 2 rooms painted. I had paid them ahead of time, like they asked and they didn’t complete the job and I never saw them again. The only thing I could understand was that the owner, was having problems. I had sent him registered letters and he wouldn’t meet with me. The price was good, except he didn’t finish the work. He would never answer his phone. It was like pulling teeth to get them to come out here to do anything.

Upon completion of the job, the quality of the painting was very substandard. Nail holes were not filled, walls were not prepared properly prior to painting, the patched drywall was not sanded properly, they did not caulk gaps in molding and baseboards. Throughout the rooms, there were drips of paint and places where there was no paint. There was paint overspray everywhere: on light fixtures, floors, light bulbs, etc. When we pointed out the errors, the owner came to review the crew's work. He also found the job substandard. He, himself, came to fix the job. Upon second walk through, found many of the original problems had not been remedied again. When we let him know we were still not satisfied, we have not heard anything else from him. Everyday we find more errors on walls including an entire panel in the kitchen that never got any paint, drips down walls, and white spots on walls. Overall, we are very dissatisfied with the result and will not use Keystone again, nor would we recommend them to anyone else.

I liked Joe as soon as I met him.  He answered the phone, set up a convenient appointment the next day, was promptly on time, and was able to start work that day.  I suppose I should have gotten another estimate, but the price was so fair, I figured it was safe to give the go-ahead right away.  I was impressed that they didn't care if the jobs were small and they couldn't reap the big bucks.  Although Dennis did the actual repairs, overall the job was done very professionally at a fair price.  Complete satisfaction.

He asks for 1/3 payment up front, something my husband is not comfortable with, but we did it. <I've since read that any contractor that cannot foot the bill for material cost should be red flag> Joe was finishing up a job else ware and sent 2 guys to start the job at my house. Okay, we think Joe will be joining them in a couple days to ramp up the speed. 2 weeks later, these 2 guys are still in our house and moving very slowly. Not even close to half finished and we don't see Joe much at all. They even skip out afternoon after Joe had been there. The whole house is a disaster at this point. So finally by week 3, Joe brings in a couple other men who are very experienced and get the ball rolling. Joe himself is seen much more. One thing I didn't like was that the garage was a mess. Came home one day to find them set up in there cutting wood (saw dust all over the place, wood and paint stacked up and we have to literally squeeze past everything to get into our house - I have a 3 yr old I have to make sure doesn't get hurt every time we come and leave our house and on weekends - yes, it's all left up and a mess over the weekends). In week 4, Joe asked for more money as he has to purchase more paint than he had originally estimated. I did not do this, I mean really. At this point we just want the job finished and these guys out of our house. The quality of the job when finally finished up in week 5 is pretty good. They did have to go back and fix a couple thing. which they did. After they were gone I have noticed some things... like window locks not being put back on in guest room, and some window fixtures that were not removed before painting, but just painted around. And then some places that were not caulked properly and look kind of messy... they were in a hurry to get out. And here's the big thing... there were items missing from my house as well, a ring that my great aunt had given to me <that was hidden in a drawer, not easy to find>, an iPod and a few other things we just can't find. I cannot say for sure one of his guys took these items as I have someone who cleans (for the past 3 years) in my house during that time too. <I let them go as I don't know who did it> But the police reported to me that one of the guys who was there is no longer an employee of Keystone as he did not pass a drug test. So much for trusted employees, he would be my prime suspect. My ring was never recovered and can never be replaced. And the whole experience was disappointing. The house looks great, aside from some missed things but the whole experience was very unpleasant. and we would not use Keystone again due to the lack of professionalism,  and possible robbery, and just didn't feel like we got the attention and follow through promised. In hind sight I would much rather have supported a painter who has his own business (like works on his own) He might have been finished in 3 weeks rather than 4 to 5 weeks. Lesson learned.

They did good work but they were very slow to start the job. If you have time to wait, then they would do good work.

I would use them again but I would watch their work because they had to do quite a bit of rework. They did some painting inside and outside and I wasn't satisfied with it so they had to redo it. They did do the rework and I was satisfied with it. They were average. I would recommend them. The pricing was average for the area.

They were supposed to re-install a window when they were done and they have yet to show up to complete that. They were hard to track down and have given me the run-around a bit. It has been a little bit of a mess. They did a decent job with the painting. The issues have just been with this window. The pricing was reasonable and comparable.

Joe, the owner, called the next morning after receiving my email. Came out that day to provide an quote. He was professional, courteous, and thorough. He told me what his procedure was and what I should expect about the work, the paint, the process, and the price. It rained Monday and Tuesday when he was originally scheduled to arrive so he called Wednesday morning to let me know that one of his men would be out that afternoon to pressure spray the house. That happened as he said. On Thursday morning he and his crew arrived and immediately got to work. The crew and owner treated my home and yard with respect and did an excellent job. When they finished Thursday afternoon Joe asked me to do a walk around with him. I asked him to do three things, including a second coat on the back door, and a touch up on the inside of the front door. He was glad to accomodate me. The price was the same as the quote except for some additional charges for painting the gutters and some additional wood repair, both of which were not covered in the initial quote. Additional charges were proper and reasonable. I feel sure that I could have gotten the job done cheaper but would have received a cheap job! If you want a paint crew with which you can communicate, is honest in their dealings, treats your property with respect, uses quality materials, works hard and fast, and is on time then you will be smart to call Keystone Painting. I give them my highest recommendation. By the way, I think they saved my deck which was starting to concern me.

I contacted Keystone Painting early on a cloudy, overcast Monday AM. I left a message, requesting an estimate. Within approximately 1 hour, I received a call from the owner, Joe Levanowitz. He was in the area & was going by and would call back with estimate. His phone manners and quick perfossional responsiveness was exceptional . He did exactly what he said he would do and called back within approximately 1 hour with the estimate. From previous Member Reports, I agreed to have the work done. He assured me that he would have the job completed by end of day. He did not question how he would be paid, as I was at work when the work was performed and not at home to pay him. He assured me not to worry and that he could drop by latter, after I had had time to review the work and pick up his pay. I came home, just as the young man that had performed the work was putting away his equipment. The house looked like it had been repainted. Nothing damaged, all items that were sitting out, he had moved and then placed back to avoid getting them wet (even down to some flags that I had hanging).I would not hesitate to have them do more work and recommend if you want a perfossional, call Keystone Painting. I plan to schedule them for a estimate for interior painting.

I can't say enough about Joe's work. I just finished using them again to repair my brick front steps and redo my garage door frames. They replaced the rotten wood and repainted the area. They also pressure washed my gutters, concrete walks, and front porch. Their work has always been of the highest quality. You get what you pay for. This company is the first one I think of when I need any kind of repairs or painting done. This recent work was just completed on 7/6/10.

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS MAN RECENTLY.  HE HAS BECOME VERY DISHONEST AND TOOK SOME MONEY FOR A DOWN PAYMENT ON WORK WE DISCUSSED AND NEVER CAME BACK. HE DID NOT DO ANY OF THE WORK WE AGREED ON AND KEEP MY PRE PAYMENT.  AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE REVIEW ABOVE I HAD A GREAT DEAL OF TRUST IN THIS MAN AND HE HAS CHANGED SO MUCH THAT I WOULDN'T ADVISE ANYONE TO DO BUSINESS WITH HIM.

They charged $400 for the job. They painted a bathroom. I had a very good experience with them. They communicated well and did what they said they would do. They were neat and professional. They wanted to make sure that I was satisfied. I will use this company again in the future.

Joe did a nice job on our house. I got three bids and selected him not only based on price, but also on my perception of his professionalism, quality of service, and attention to detail. And, of course, his high rating on Angie's List! Joe impressed me as a very honest, transparent, flexible, and courteous service provider. My wife and I weren't quite sure what colors we wanted, so Joe got a consultant from his paint supplier to come and give us some advice and he painted samples of different colors on the walls, so that we could see what they would really be like. That was very helpful and we ended up with some pretty good choices. Within the limits of the weather, Joe got the job done quickly and he cheerfully took care of all the details I nitpicked about. I would definitely recommend Keystone Painting to anyone in our area. My only caveat would be to double-check Joe's math - he made two goofs on our estimate, I let the first one go and split the difference on the second one with him. He's a nice guy and a good painter - you'll be happy if you choose him to paint your place.

I can't express how pleased I was with Joe Levanowitz and his crew. Everything they did was first class. i had been putting off having work done in various areas and was impressed with the fact that they could fix everything for me. The price I paid may seem high but it was worth every penny of it. I couldn't have found anyone as qualified as Joe and his crew. They were all very courteous and hard working.

Joe Levanowitz did a good job for us. He communicated well with us and did the work when scheduled. He and his crew painted our house in one day and it looks great. Joe came back the second day to replace the front porch post and paint it because we didn't like the post they used the first time. We really like the job they did.

Joe Levanowitz and his crew at Keystone Painting did a terrific job. They prepared a written estimate and did not require any deposit up front (a rare occurrence in the painting industry). They arrived on time each day and performed all work in a professional manner. Everyone I encountered with Keystone Painting was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them for any exterior painting project.

Kept in contact well, had a waiting list, but Keystone was worth waiting for. Crew was out for two half days completing work. All workers were courteous and neat, and respected our home. Joe, the owner, came to finish and had the crew touch up any areas I pointed out at the end of the job. Very satisfied. I would recommend.
