A month ago, I brought in my two pet rats who had come down with pneumonia. The vet sent me home with antibiotics that were supposed to last me two weeks. After seven days, I ran out of the medication despite following the dosage closely. I called them and explained that there was a mistake and I must’ve been shorted. I was told to come in and pick up more and that it would be taken care of. When I showed up to the office, they tried to charge me $50 for more. I thought this was a little high for 7 days worth of antibiotics so I explained the situation again and they “discounted” it down to $25. Their explanation was that “the medication can stick to the side of the bottle and it’s nobody’s fault” With all due respect, that shouldn’t cause me to be short 7 days when the bottles are so tiny. Furthermore, if they’re aware of that then shouldn’t they make up for it and given me enough in the first place to compensate? After 7 more days, my rats were still sick so I called a third time for another two weeks worth of meds. They charged me $50 for this round, which I paid without complaint. However, from this I realized that they tried double charging me the last time I’d come in and that the $25 I’d paid was not a discount at all. One of my rats didn’t make it. He passed away just a couple days later. So it would be logical to assume that I’d have more than enough meds for my surviving rat. It’s been 10 days and I’m out of antibiotics early AGAIN. I spoke with the business manager on the phone today and explained everything that has happened in the last month. She had nothing to say on the matter and she offered nothing remotely close to an apology. The only thing she said was “I have to wait for the doctors to return from lunch and then I’ll call you back.” It’s been hours, the office has closed, and I’ve heard nothing back. Antibiotics must be taken in completion, on a schedule, without skipped doses or they’re practically useless and the infection can come back even stronger. My baby has no medication today and is still suffering. He also has a ruptured eye that we had a surgery lined up for but I don’t feel confident dropping another $400 with a vet that has shown me such poor business practice. Two days later I got a call back from one of the vets. She didn’t bring up anything I had discussed with the manager. All she talked about was bringing my rat in for another examination and x-rays aka spending a lot more money. Of course I want to get him the help he needs but I don’t want to put any more time or money into a place that I can’t trust. I was hoping to address the problems I’ve had first. At the end of the call I asked her to have the manager call me back and when she did, I expressed my annoyance with how no one has been willing to address the issues I’ve had and that I haven’t gotten what I paid for. She told me that I need to “turn the bottle of medication upside down to let it drain to the bottom, didn’t the vet discuss this with you?” When I said that I don’t think that’s going to produce the 11 days worth of medication I’m missing, she said “well this just doesn’t happen with other exotic pet owners” and I should come in for another exam so they could also “check the bottles” and that it would cost $200. The med bottles are literally 2 inches tall. There’s no excess antibiotics hiding in there. I’ve owned rats for the last 20 years and have plenty of experience administering medication. I AM 100% POSITIVE I have been following the dosage correctly. I found it really condescending that she just kept basically implying I must be too stupid to follow instructions and they need to check the bottles for me to make sure they’re actually empty. Once it became clear she wasn’t going to offer to rectify the situation or even apologize, I ended the conversation by saying I would not be spending any more money with their business. This is ridiculous honestly. This place only wants your money and refuses to own up to anything. I’d like some kind of a refund to put towards getting him help somewhere else.

Animal Boarding Kennels
Things went well and we will continue to use them as needed. The quality of care and available is good. The facility looks to be clean and well maintained.

They seem to take really good care of my dog and have good availability. They also seem to have assigned people exclusively to the boarding area.

It's excellent as always. The staff is great. They love the dogs. The dog loves being there and didn't have a problem. They can stay over for boarding or anything. It's just a great staff. They're very personable. They can board as well as take care of your pets as well as grooming. They do everything.

Called and was able to get in for appointment immediately. Vet explained situation and different options thoroughly and with kindness and professionalism. Performed the surgery and my child (bird) was ready and able to come home within an hour.
Entire staff is very kind and I will definitely use them again for both, my macaw and cockatoo.

They have always been very good. They took care of my horses when I had them; as a matter of fact I've been using them since I moved back here in 1988. The treatments have gone well and the staff is friendly. They saved one of my sick cats and he lived to be around 16 years old. They also do house-calls.

Animal Boarding Kennels
My dog was distressed!!!
We headed out for the holidays and needed to board our 4-yr old Jack Russel. She has been boarded before at other places and everyone loves her. You can tell she had always been well cared for and obviously let out to receive extra love. Being new to Greenville we took a referral to use Cleveland Animal Hospital. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!!!
A month prior to the boarding I had my old vet forward her records and upon dropping her off Cleveland indicated that they did indeed have them. Everything seemed fine when we dropped her off. She was excited and we were on our way.
Then the issues started...3 hours away from Greenville we received a call that their vet gave her 3 vaccinations. This was ridiculous. First of all they had received the records prior to our visit. Secondly, they never called to get my permission (they are not my vet). Finally, she was up to date on all of the vaccinations they gave her. I was not happy. I asked to speak with their manager, but was instead placed on and quot;hand over phoneand quot; hold. I could hear the conversation between the person on the phone and the office manager, who was making very rude comments like and quot;too badand quot;, and quot; we gave the shots he has to pay for themand quot;, etc. What was so bad is that I asked to speak with her again when the same person returned, and was told she was not available. I did not complain about paying, I wanted to discuss the lack of need for the shots. Unfortunately for me the office manager is a joke, and had no interest in hearing what I had to say. The person on the phone stated that we would get this resolved when I picked up my dog.
As I do each time we board I called the kennel every 2 days to check on her. Each time I was told that she was great and seemed happy. This was not correct!!!
When I returned to pick her up on day five, I could not believe what happened. I was told since they gave her the shots I had to pay for them. I brought with me the same records that showed she did not need them, and they responded with and quot;We have certain requirementsand quot;. One example is even if she has a vaccine that is good for 1 year if their office only offers the 6-month version the dog has to receive theirs. This of course was never posted or provided to me at anytime. This is simply a moneymaker for them (Have you seen the multi-million dollar building they have to pay for next to Cleveland Park???). I asked again to speak with the manager, and was immediately told she was not available. You could tell this was pre-arranged. I then stated that I would not pay for the extra shots that were not required, but did offer to pay for the ones that would be due in the following 3 months. The person at the desk accepted this, and processed the check out. I was told, however that even though she received the shots since I did not pay for them they would not record them on the receipt.
When they brought out my dog I was shocked. She did not even run to me, but ran to the door and scratched the glass and barked to get out. This was not normal at all because she never barks and always jumps in my arms when I pick her up. She could not wait to get outside. I took her out and she proceeded to take the longest pee and largest poop I had ever seen her take. It was obvious that at 8:45 AM she had not been let out that morning, and maybe the night before. After she was done with her business she ran to me and jumped in my arms. She would not let me put her down. For 3-4 days this behavior remained. I could not go anywhere without her trying to jump in my arms. Another woman came out to get the vets lead that was still on her neck, and my dog was terrified of her. I was now livid. I could not believe how distressed she was. She was shaking and even dribbled a little. The woman had a scowl on her face and I could tell it was the unavailable office manager that I wanted to speak with earlier. She said and quot;I need the leashand quot; and reached for the lead I now had in my hand and walked away.
On a hunch as we drove away I had my wife call the vet and ask for the manager on speakerphone. As I expected she got on the phone and it was indeed the woman that came to get the leash.
Not only is this woman rude and cannot manage her position properly, but they took it out on my 4-yr old loving dog that still is not acting right. I will NEVER go back to Cleveland Animal Hospital and will tell everyone how my dog was treated....STAY AWAY if you love your pet.

If you don t mind spending a lot of money for a boarding service, I would definitely recommend Cleveland Park. The staff there was wonderful, and their accommodations were very comfortable for your pets. They were fed, bathed, exercised played with. They would even groom them if you wanted them to.

Cleveland Park East had very spacious and clean kennels. It was newly remodeled. The care for my cat was excellent. They treated my cat as if it were their own. They also provided a pill for each animal so the animals don't attract or spread any fleas. They were outstanding.

Their staff was very friendly and helpful. They were informative and experienced animal people. Dr. Finley was a very great animal doctor. They provided food and exercise. They had play areas both indoors and outdoors. You could totally trust boarding your pets with them.

We only used these people the one time, but we were comfortable leaving our dog with them. I don t remember anything standing out as really good or really bad. We thought the price was okay. A car killed our dog so we never used them again.

They had a beautiful facility that had been completely remodeled recently. They were very accommodating and offered a lot of different services. They had a great caring staff that really cared about the animals. They did offer plenty of playtimes and I felt comfortable leaving her there.
