Door was to be finished prior to Thanksgiving for ~$450. By the time I had them come out 4 or 5 times, and with lots of rain in between, door was finished in January. Lots of runs and splatters during the work. Never came out to look at completed job. Just waited for me to call and complain. That was bad enough, BUT... I asked them to paint my upstairs hallway and down a short stairwell while they were at it. There was a gross miscommunication on price (Said $1000 for door and add on hallway/foyer). Assume for a minute he communicated correctly. They charged $1000 to paint a hallway and stairwell!!! I patched all the holes, there was no sanding, they only needed two coats, nothing to move out of the way and they didn't even trim. Are you serious? A month after they were gone for good my handrail on the stairs came off in my hand because they left out about 4 screws when they put it back up. They initially quoted me $1000 for both the door and the hallway/foyer. Sounds reasonable I guess, but I kept having to bring them back out.I'm trying to keep this as short as possible, and to the facts. The price was exorbitant, the quality was sub-par at best, the timeliness was awful, and the professionalism was non-existent. I kept having to bring them back to fix the door, and they never once apologized or seemed embarrassed by the poor workmanship. I payed a "professional" because I wanted a really good job done on this expensive, brand new door. My 11 year old and I could have probably have done the same quality of work for a tiny fraction of the cost. But to then gouge me on price and then try to feign offense when I question the price and quality? Whereas you kept on taking jobs, this was the only paint job I had to worry about during 3 MONTHS this small job took. Who do you think remembers what was agreed upon better? Moral of the story is that the good 'ol days are gone, and people can't be trusted to be honest and take pride in their work. Always get a quote on paper before hand. I knew that, but thought this guy seemed old school. I guess I was wrong, and I won't make the same mistake again.
