I noticed a very small water spot on the ceiling of our bedroom. I went into the attic and saw damp OSB boards in 2 different sections near a ridge vent. I reviewed various roofing contractors in my area on AngiesList.com. I chose Garrett's Roofing in Roebuck because of their excellent ratings and reviews. Donald Garrett came out and inspected my my problem in the attic and then went on the roof to inspect the ridge vent. The ridge vent in question was not the biggest problem. After his inspection he showed me where the main 30 foot ridge vent across my house was pulling apart and flopping on the roof.
Donald told me that the 4 ridge vents on my house were manufactured by a company that had many problems in recent years with their sectional plastic ridge vents pulling apart and coming loose at the seams thus initiating leaks. He said his company had replaced numerous ridge vents manufactured by this company. He stated that all of my ridge vents needed to be replaced and he thought he could get it done by the manufacturing company at no charge including his labor. He lined me up with a guy at the roofing supply store where my materials were purchased when my house was built 12 years ago. Through discussions with this guy I was indeed able to get my replacement ridge vents installed and capped at zero expense to me. I could not believe it. Also Donald did not charge me for coming out to inspect my roof that first day.
Donald and his helper came out yesterday and did the work to my satisfaction. I highly recommend Donald Garrett and his family owned roofing company that has been in business through several generations. They are very professional and I was well pleased. If I had not called them, I would not have known the true extent of my problem and I would have probably spent around $650.00 out of pocket replacing materials proven to be defective by the manufacturer. Garrett Roofing will definitely do my next roof when the time comes.

He was very nice and he came here.  He showed us some materials and he checked with the distributor here.  So he went on checked the roof.  He has done good and we were very pleased with him.  H responded promptly and followed up with the distributor.  He did not charge us for that service.   

They are very responsive and very nice people.  They do a first rate job.  Everything was good when they did the roof before.  We like their workmanship, clean up, as quickly as they got it done and as promptly as they addressed our problems.  They were just exceptional.  We have found on the referrals for Angie?s List.  We have been really pleased with them.

After days of rain mid-July, a spot on my ceiling alerted me to my problem. I know as much about electrical,
plumbing, and roofing as I do about brain surgery and the husband was thousands of miles away and had been
for months. I will admit that I was frantic and began to shotgun calls to roofers who were understandably
slammed.
Donald Garrett immediately returned my call, set up appointments and was prompt, efficient and very
helpful to me.

It poured for the next three days following Donald's repair job and not a drop got through the roof
where he repaired it. Before the repair was done we had water pouring in through the drywall ceiling even!
We found our go-to roofer and absolutely trust his
advice, expertise, quality of work, and pricing. We like that he is a
true local and his grandfather started the roofing company still run by
him and his dad. I'd rather support the individual hard-worker than the
corporate conglomerates that sub-out work and take short cuts.

They responded quickly to my request for review of damage and repair quote, quoted a reasonable price. Although mine was not a major job, they did not treat it as a and quot;fill-inand quot; project -- They showed up when promised, did the work professionally, and cleaned up well when complete. In addition to being recommended on Angie's List, they were recommended by a friend who had used the company previously. I would recommend them to anyone needing roofing work.

It went well. They did what they said they were going to do. They were polite and professional. They showed up on time. They were very clean throughout the whole project and cleaned up after the work was done.

Glenn and his crew were very professional and did an excellent job. We would highly recommend them. Got the job done in 2 days and never had issues with any of the cleanup. Also, recently had him out again b/c a tree fell and damaged our gutters. He was out immediately to assess the roof and his gutter guys were done in 45 minutes. Highly recommend!!!

He promptly answered call and set up a time to come out. He knew it was going to be a very small job and still came. We contacted several others who had minimum fees and fees to quote, Mr. Garrett did not. He called before coming and arrived when he said he would. He was polite and dressed professionally for the job. He was able to quickly do the repairs and did it for a great price. He looked around for additional problems and did not try to push us to do anymore than needed. We were very pleased and will use him again.

After discussion with Mr. Garrett about the ridgevent, I decided to remove the ridgevent and replace it with roofing, since I felt I had adequate venting in the roof. I havent had any other issues with the roof leaking. Overall I am pleased with his work and his advice and would hire him again.

He gave me an estimate in October and did the work in November. I didn't check the work against anyone else. He came right on time. I liked him.

We had a new roof installed in 2009 by a roofing company who no longer answers their phone. Recently, after a heavy downpouring rain, we noticed water dripping from the bottom of a light switch receptacle in the kitchen. After investigating, we concluded it must a roof leak. Since we could no longer get in touch with the roofer who orginally did our roof, we joined Angie's List in search of a recommended roofer to check it out. We called Mr. Garrett, who came out and investigated. He determined that it was a problem with the gutter and downspout and recommended the gutterman he used in conjunction with his roofing jobs. He also did a quick inspection of the roof when we expressed our concern that our original roofer could no longer be located. Mr. Garrett was very knowledgeable, professional and a very nice man. We would certainly recommend him to our friends and neighbors.

The whole process was fantastic! They showed up early, started removing the old shingles on one side of the house, and replaced those that day. Next day, showed up early again and repeated the process. Then they cleaned up and was done!

Mr. Garrett came when he said he would, was polite and professional, and performed the job quickly and efficiently. He even explained to me what the problem was, and how he would fix it. The price was unbeatable. I would be happy to call Garrett Roofing again.

Excellent service; roof looks great, and it was completed in a timely manner. A few nails left over in the driveway/yard, but considering the size of the job, I'm not complaining! Everyone was very professional, and did a quality job!

As a result of hail damage, I needed a new roof. I checked Angie's list and saw Garrett Roofing had great reviews. I also asked around for recommendation. Garrett Roofing came up. They were professional and easy to work with. Did what they said they would and repaired some damage to the porch roof. I picked out a black Certaineed shingle (Certainteed was listed on the estimate), but Don suggested I go with GAF Charcoal color instead, saying they were using GAF shingles now instead of Certainteed. I'm not exactly sure why they rather I didn't use the black Certainteed, but I agreed to the GAF Charcoal and it looks ok. I feel good about what they did. They were on my roof when I left for work, and were finished when I got home. Don is professional and friendly and does what he says he'll do, which is a breathe of fresh air. I'm very happy with the work they did.

They suggested I pick out my shingles at Cannon Building Supply a couple of days before they were to begin the roof work. They arrived very early in the morning so that they could finish before it got too hot in the afternoon. It did take them two days to complete the job. The cleanup was awesome. I think we only found one nail that they had missed on the side of the house. The price quoted was the price that they invoiced us for. Unlike my neighbor, who used a different company and they added fees to their quote once they performed the work. Garret roofing also indicated that they would not take any payment up front for a deposit or materials, which was impressive to us. We are VERY happy and definitely would refer them to anyone. The new roof looks stunning.

We were given plenty of time to pick the color of the shingles. We procrastinated! The color we preferred would have been a special order and we would have had to wait. We chose to go with our second choice rather than wait. Don't procrastinate! Do look at the roofs of houses of similar color to help decide.

We were having problems with our roof leaking. The upper story on the back of our home is almost flat. The roof pitch is only 2/12. This is where our leaks were occurring. Although the old shingles were not in that bad of shape or that old, we were having problems because the last roofer just did not give any special attention to this part of the roof. I knew that I wanted a roofer who would address the additional needs this part of the roof required and not just give me another routine roofing job that wouldn't last. I really didn't know anyone and had just called people out of the phone book to give me an estimate. I had three estimates but really didn't feel 100% about anyone. Then I remembered I had seen an advertisement for Angies List on TV and decided to join and see what others had to say. I'm very glad I did. I found reviews for Donald Garrett at Garrett Roofing on Angies List and they were all very favorable. I called Donald for a fourth estimate. He arrived in a timely manner and we discussed all my issues and concerns. Donald spent well over an hour listening to me and discussing what and how he would handle the job. After meeting with him I was sure that I wanted him for the job. I felt like he was a craftsman and cared about the quality of the job. Also he would be there on the job though completion and not just farm it out to a work crew. I also felt like he would be there for me in the future if a problem ever did arise. Also he gave me the best warranty on his workmanship. When they arrived to start the job everything went well. He also installed moisture guard underlayment on the low slope portion of the roof. He only tore off as much of my old roof as he felt he could finish in a day. This was really smart as rain moved in that night. But I had nothing to worry as there was no part of my roof left exposed. The next morning the rain ended and they tore the rest of the old roof off and finished re-roofing the rest of the house. The new attic venilation vents they installed matched the color of my roof. Donald even painted my white pvc vent pipes for the plumbing with special paint to match the color of the roof! Attention to these little details just makes all the difference. They are a third generation family owned roofing company ( Donald's dad was right there with him every day ) and they really care about the quality of their work. My new roof looks really great and I feel Iike I got the quality job I was looking for.
