I spent months trying to find doors that I liked and that would fit my space. I finally decided I had wasted too much time and asked The Looking Glass to design custom doors for me. We agreed on a glass design, they came out and measured. About 8 weeks later they came to install the doors. At this point they realized there had been an internal communication problem. The doors were made 32" wide, but were supposed to be 28". After some measuring and head scratching they realized they could cut the doors down and still have just enough room for handles as long as I was OK with ball catches. I was concerned about warping, but I selected Bollection doors which are made of an MDF like material so they should warp and expand/contract less. The doors turned out great. I have much more glass than I would have had with 28" doors. They also did a good job on the surrounding custom trim work. I still need to call them back for a couple of final tweaks, but I am very happy with the doors. They ended up being about 28 3/8" each and still have enough material on either side of the handles to look good. One caution - cover everything in the room where they will be working before they come. My doors needed a lot of sanding to get them right after they were cut. I didn't have everything covered so I had a bigger post-job cleanup to contend with (I assume that if the doors were the correct size I would have had less mess). They gave me a discount big enough to cover a maid service to clean up afterwards.
