"Let me start by saying it has been over 2 years since we worked on this project, and we have not heard from this customer since then. This was a complete kitchen remodel (due to water damage) and we installed high-end cherry and maple cabinetry from the Jim Bishop cabinet line that the customer selected. The cabinets were ordered and came to our warehouse promptly, but we ended up having to store them in our warehouse for 2 months waiting for the house to be ready for us to begin. After we did the installation in June of 2018, we made multiple trips back to the house making adjustments and repairs to the cabinets, as there were many different trades in and out of the house and things get damaged. I don't understand what the customer means by "they ended up being very expensive"... our price did not change from the contract that was signed before the project was started. Also, we did not do any "lighting" in this house, only cabinetry. At this point, any warranty that would have been in place is void because the customer never paid their balance."
"Thank you [Member Name Removed]! We truly appreciate your positive review, and look forward to the opportunity to work with you again in the future. Kathleen Higginbotham JKH Cabinets & Carpentry, Inc."
"I am a little confused by this review. This customer purchased bathroom cabinetry from us to install herself. Our contract agreement was that the cabinets would be paid for at delivery. The cabinets were delivered to the customer on 02-03-16. I emailed the customer an Invoice on the 5th reminding her of the balance due on her cabinetry. She emailed back that same day that she had seen a few small dents / scratches on the underside of one of the cabinets. I asked to her email us a picture of the damage and said we would contact the manufacturer to see if they would replace the cabinet under their warranty. I did advise her that it was doubtful they would do that since the damage was very small and on the underside of the cabinet. I told her that if there had been any type of structural or visible damage, they would certainly replace the cabinet. I called the manufacturer the next day and as expected, they could not justify replacing the cabinet for scratches or small dents underneath the cabinet. The next day I emailed the customer to relay this information. However, I told her that our goal at JKH is to always make our customer's happy, so we offered to take $100 off of her bill. She wrote back and said thank you, she would mail the check. To date I have not yet received her payment."
"[Member name removed] -- We are sorry to hear that you are so disappointed in your new quartz countertops. JKH Cabinets has been in business in this area for over 20 years, and there is a reason we have always had an A rating on Angie's List. I truly do not understand your feeling the need to give us this bad review. We have not received any calls from you here at JKH since finishing this install. If you got quotes from other quartz providers, you will find that we are very competitive in our pricing. We did everything we could to make you happy (which I think may be impossible) and made several trips back to your house at no charge. Yes, we do use a local fabricator to cut and install quartz for us. They too have been in business for many years and have always done good work for us. They bent over backwards to try and please you, even going as far as cleaning out the cat litter in your litter box! The sink that was installed is the one you selected, and is a high grade stainless steel. Undermount sinks are the most common option with quartz, and again, this is what you selected."
The team at JKH did a great job on our new kitchen. We struggled to find a provider that would allow us flexibility to design a layout that fit our needs without paying for a full set of custom cabinets. JKH assisted with design and helped walk us through our decision making process. We were able to make a few custom modifications where needed while enjoying the price point of a primarily stock set of cabinets. The final installation looks great and matched our original quote exactly.
While we only used JKH for our cabinetry, our contact Matt was more than happy to help answer questions that we struggling with during our remodel. All in all, we had a great experience and would highly recommend JKH.
I contacted JKH Cabinets and Carpentry in Rock Hill, SC to add cabinets to my kitchen. I worked with Field Designer Brandon Hilbert whose design was spectacular. He is creative and open to working with the client to achieve exactly the look I wanted. We made changes - some mine and some Brandon's - before installation all of which resulted in a magnificent kitchen space.
The company is excellent, with all work being done either on schedule or ahead of schedule. All materials were ordered and installed as specified. They clearly care about customer service and provided outstanding service from start to finish, from design to installation.
These folks are honest and ethical and I highly recommend them to anyone in the Columbia, SC or Charlotte, NC areas. It has been a long time since I found commercial business which exhibits such high regard for its reputation, quality of work, excellence in employees, and the ultimate in customer service. The company also designs and installs bathroom cabinets and offices. I plan a future project and will use JKH again.
They could stand to hire a project manager that oversees every project daily and communicates with the customer every day while the project is going on, but this is not a complaint. They did a fine job but sometimes we wondered when they would let us know what and when the next step would take place.
I would definitely use them again.
