CUSTOM DRYWALL

Eric Nelson came out at my request to do an estimate for drywall and painting. He was quick to show up and presented us with a fair price for the work. The drywall work was done and we had issues with missed spots and improper cutouts in the ceiling. We had a ceiling A/C register that was not even cut out. Luckily I had taken photos of the ceiling so I was able to cut it out without messing up the ceiling.
The drywallers mudded around the ceiling A/C return rather than removing it, resulting in a hole that was much larger than the original and resulting in us having to order in a new one as there was so much drywall mud on the original.
There were a LOT of holes (30 or so) that were made below the trim line that were left unfilled. I insisted that these holes, all about 1and quot; in diameter, be plugged even though the trim would cover them. I didn't want mice trying to gnaw through the molding.
The drywall in one of the baths was never completed - there is still a big, 3' x 1' hole in the wall where the pipes come through. Simply got tired of calling them back out to fix these issues.
The paint job was simply incomplete. Eric Nelson told us he could not match the color of Behr paint we wanted, and said we had to use Sherwin-Williams colors. Then, he went and purchased Porter Paints and used that instead. The paint finishes were mixed up and touchups were done in a differenc shade and texture than the original, resulting in shiny spots all over the place. The painter, Ron, cam out about 6 times and finally wouldn't come out any more to fix the issues.
The ceiling in the kitchen looks bad - different textures and shades. I am embarrassed by the result.
We contacted Porter Paints, who had their representative, Marc ( Marshall Shelton ), come out and look the job over. He said there were no paint issues from the manufacturer's standpoint. The issues are all due to the application. He contacted Eric Nelson, as well as myself, in an attempt to get the job completed. Eric refuses to return my calls and told Marc he has no intention of fulfilling his contract.
At this point, we are preparing to pursue them through Small Claims Court and the BBB.

Make sure you are ready for them to come to your project. Very fast work.

Mr Nelson and crew were reasonably priced (based on other estimates) and while they finished a day early they were not on time daily and did not always come when scheduled. Overall the work was of decent quality.

Eric was very responsive, and his crew did great work...ON TIME!! The only weird thing that happened is that he misquoted me on the drywall and added $220 to the cost.

ERIK AND HIS TEAM DID A VERY GOOD JOB ON A PRETTY QUICK TIME SCHEDULE. THEY DID RUN A BIT BEHIND, SO THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DO AS MUCH OF THE FINAL FINISH AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED. THE WALLS WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT BETTER HAD THEY COME BACK AFTER THE PRIMER COAT - BUT BECAUSE OF THEIR DELAY, THERE WASN'T TIME BEFORE FINAL INSPECTIONS. HE HAS A LOT OF DIFFERENT GUYS WORKING FOR HIM - SOME WE LIKED, A FEW WE DID NOT.

LIKE ALL CONTRACTORS, A LITTLE HARD TO SCHEDULE BECAUSE OF OTHER OBLIGATIONS. BUT NEVER HELD UP THE OVERALL PROGRESS, AND THE WORK QUALITY WAS EXCELLENT. PROFESSIONAL WORKERS.

ERIC RESPONDED TO MY INQUIRY PROMPTLY, AND WITH AN ESTIMATE IN THE RANGE I EXPECTED TO PAY. HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS.
