On the day of installation, the servicemen arrived shortly before the appointed time. They completed most of the outside installation before coming in to install the thermostat. Other than the short amount of time they were in the house, we hardly knew they were there. In all, the installation took 4-4.5 hours (they had projected 4-5 hours).
As far as I can tell, the installation went without a hitch. At our instruction, they left some drywall dust and wire insulation behind. There were no remnants of the old unit or pad. My only two complaints, if I had to come up with any, were a screw we found on the driveway several days later, and the just slightly off-level thermostat that I haven't bothered to straighten yet. Otherwise, they were unobtrusive, professional, early and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again (and, in fact, am inquiring about a whole-house humidifier now).
