The sales gent dropped the ball on a $45K window order. I gave him the list and did not hear from him for over a month. I got quick response from their competitor, Building Center, and purchased from them. As I mentioned, the yard is now tailored to large conglomerates rather than the local builder. It is too bad this happened. It was a great place to do business in the past. Hopefully they will return to their local yard status and capture the true bread and butter for the industry.
Description of Work: I am building my fourth house by myself. The last one was some 20 years ago. This was not my first rodeo. I got excellent treatment and fair pricing from Carter. There seemed to be a change, corporately, from local yard to major distribution center. As a one house customer, I found myself falling to the wayside as major building corporations took the fore for Carter. All, repeat all, of the employees that deal with customers either got fired or quit. The new inexperienced group could take orders but had little practical building knowledge. It is still a great yard but will be a difficult chore for the single home builder. If you want to be completely on your own, this is a good place.
