He mows the lawn and trims, sprays the weeds. Quarterly, he does the lawn treatments. He has redone our french drain before. I think he has done some irrigation work for us. He did all of our landscaping out front. He pulled out all of our old bushes in and put new ones in. We have been using them for 8 years. He has our garage code so that is the kind of guy that he is.

Response from Carolina Horticultural Services
"Pictures sent to client were only examples of rock sizes to be used in their landscape not how they would be placed. I specifically described how boulders would be placed onto hillside before job was performed. I met with client on two separate occasions on two different weekends. I canceled personal plans both weekends to accommodate their schedule. Approximately 7000 pounds of boulders ranging from 20" to 34" in diameter was used on the hill. The homeowners only had a certain amount of money to spend due to the fact the work was only being done due to a insurance settlement. Prior to the damage incurred to the landscape, there wasn't any boulders that size in the landscape. I stated that a rock wall could be built but it would be more than the allotted funds available. When client wasn't happy with position of some of the boulders, I agreed to come back and re-position the boulders. Multiple return trips were made to try and satisfy client."

I found Carolina Horticultural on Angie's List, and I have been nothing but pleased with the service.  Chris, the owner, is responsive and professional.  He is VERY patient, always willing to speak to the homeowner and answer questions.  His prices are fair and in line with other companies, but his customer service and quality of work far outweighs any of the other companies I've used in this area.  So far he's done all the work on my yard himself, and that is a very nice change from past experiences.  He was also able to bring back my lawn which looks amazing after my last service accidentally killed half of it with weed killer.  He knows his stuff!  I highly recommend him.  **the price I put as cost of service is my average monthly cost so far.

Chris did a good job listening to the client and incorporating his design within the constraints of the budget. He provided a multi-phased design that could be slowly installed in this new house. The landscape plan was fully approved by the HOA with no changes as his design included all the required information.

He has built strong relationships with local growers to get good pricing on quality plants and Chris passes that on to the home owner. He performed within the scope of the job and the rear yard incorporated all the requested items. Chris works hard and takes pride in the finished product. His background in horticulture ensured a design that will evolve with maturity as the plants, trees and shrubs continue to grow without creating future maintenance issues with over planting, etc.

Based on his performance, additional services were used for lawn service and treatment going forward.

Chris came out promptly and reviewed what we wanted done. We had several things, but wanted to get a large maple to replace a tree we had removed due to storm damage.

Chris listened to our primary request and also noted other landscaping requests. We felt comfortable with Chris and his knowledge and requested several quotes.

Chris provided a quote for a 2and quot; caliper red maple and discussed a schedule for the installation.

Installation was completed as described and Chris provided recommendations for care of the transplanted tree.

We were very satisfied and have since used Chris for both lawn treatment and mulch delivery.

This was the second time we've used Chris' services. He was very prompt in returning my call and providing an estimate of work. His fee was very reasonable given the amount of trim work to be done.

I asked Chris if it was possible to go with him to the tree farm to pick the trees and he did so without hesitation. I am truly looking forward to a long working relationship with Chris.

Chris is very particular about his work and made it all look great. He worked very hard all by himself and completed the work in 4 days. Chris provides fairly priced estimates and works very hard to make your yard look like something to be very proud of. He is prompt and shows up on the days he says he will. The other landscapers I spoke with during the different phases of my project were unresponsive, kept putting me on delay for weeks, pricey, or spoke to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. It was good to do business with someone who cares about his work and customers. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

I have contacted Chris at the end of March telling him the trees that I wanted planted. About a week later I received a quote from him. In about 2 weeks from the initial email I had both trees planted.
