I previously used Albert about 10 years ago on a different house. Was very pleased with their quality and follow--up service at that time.
The quote that I received from Albert was the most expensive quote received, but I was sold on the 5 year warranty. As Albert advertised, "It is cheaper to do it right than to do it twice."
Problem is that they did not perform the service as quoted. They were to replace wood problems, but instead they repaired. "Don't worry, we will come back if you are not happy." It appears that the original Albert is no longer involved as we worked with a different man named Albert.
I have repeatedly tried to get them back out to perform the repairs. An employee came out to pressure wash and took pictures, but we never heard back from Albert. The company is not returning phone calls or text messages.
This has been a very disappointing experience. I used Albert a second time and even recommended to many friends based on my first experience. I do not plan to use again and would discourage friends from using as well based on my current experience.
I was sold and purchased a premier service, but have received a bottom tier service.
They had a lady painter who did a great job painting the trim. When I used other painters in the past they often got paint on the side of the trim that you don't see until later. When Albert's Painting left it was close to 5:30 p.m. and everything looked great!
But the next morning when the sunlight came in, I noticed the area where they put drywall needed to smoothed out, so Albert, the owner came back out himself, and smoothed it out. I would highly recommend their company.
Would I use Albert’s Painting again? Only if I wanted a full time job
supervising his painters because that is what this painting job turned
into. Contracted to paint one room, front porch railing and trim, back porch benches and covered back porch floor
and pressure wash “entire” house for $1850.00. See a recounting of the saga below.
Day One - Crew of one showed up at 8:00 but didn’t have ladder; had to borrow mine.
He started to prime den wall which was gloss paneling. Proposal was
to “scuff sand” all walls and woodwork. Crew person stated that this was “special primer” and didn’t need to
sand.
I CALLED ALBERT for the first time. Walls got sanded. 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of paint.
Proceeded with painting the den. Pressure washing of the house began later that day.
Day two -
One painter on job at 8:00. Finished with woodwork in den. Began caulking trim on
front porch. I did a check of the den painting job and had to have painter go back and paint the
tops of the doors and window trim as he had missed these areas. Also had him
clean up some paint from floor.
Later, I noticed the painter starting to apply paint to front porch. He Had not caulked all areas needing
this and had not scraped, sanded or primed bare wood areas as agreed to in Albert’s proposal.
I looked at the pressure washing job done the previous day. They missed the entire back of house above the
back porch. They had also missed areas on top of window frames and the area under front porch ceiling. It was still dirty
and discolored.
I CALLED ALBERT the second time. A flurry of activity. Several people showed up and much talking and
pointing among the crew. Scraping, sanding and priming were started again. Extra people left. One man still
on the job.
Day 3 -
One painter (same one as day 2) showed up at 8:00. Continued on back porch benches where he had
left off the day before. Still had areas to scrape and paint and prime. I believe he had thought he was ready to apply the final
coat of paint before I pointed these out. I ask him if he thought he would get the
covered porch floor started today and he said yes. I left a shop-vac to clean and sweep the porch, and told him that the entire
floor was to get a light sanding as agreed to in Albert’s proposal. We had moved all furnishing off the porch that morning in
anticipation of this. I had to leave for a doctors appointment at 9:15 and was gone until 2:00
pm. (bad timing on my part) When I returned, the covered porch floor had
been painted. The agreement was to use semi-gloss oil based Benjamin Moore paint for the porch floor. I discovered that
the painter used satin latex Sherwin Williams paint for the floor.
Don’t these people read their own contracts. I guess not!
I CALLED ALBERT the third time about 2:20. Explained the problem, he said his phone was breaking up and would call me
back. 3:10 and no phone call from Albert. Noticed the painter taking the Sherwin Williams deck paint can to get a “Match”.
Obviously Albert had called him. I told him I did not want any more painting on the porch floor until I had met with Albert
and we discussed how we were going to proceed.
Albert’s wife (who didn’t speak much English) came to the house at about 3:30. She brought her son as a translator. We
went over the problems with the job as described above. Many apologies were made and she said she wanted
to make it right. She offered to paint a room for free and to pressure wash the house once a year for a 2 year
period. I told her all I wanted was to get the job I had contracted for. Nothing more and nothing less. I asked how long this
particular painter had been with them and was told 5 years. I was told this is the first time he has had so much trouble. I
told them that was hard to believe as good employees did not start doing shoddy work overnight!
Albert’s will repaint the porch floor with the correct paint, finish up with the front porch and back porch benches under her
personal supervision. They procured the correct paint and repainted the back-porch floor and continued work on the
front porch railing.
Day Four -
I had to be gone this day. I left at 9:00 am. My wife was at home. She reported that two painter’s
showed up around 10:00. At 11:00 they requested a walk through of the paint job which my wife deferred until I
was home. They indicated that they would be back the next day (Sat.) to finish the pressure washing. They finished up on
the front porch and rear deck benches before 2:00 pm and left. I returned home around 4:00 pm. A quick look at the job
showed that the painting was not finished on the back porch benches. They had missed a couple of areas on the ends and
underneath the benches against the house.
Day 5 -
One man showed up about 1:15 pm. He began pressure washing the front porch ceiling and moved to the back to
finish up the back of the house over the porch roof that he had missed the first day. I pointed out the missed areas to be
painted and he then finished the areas of painting on the back porch benches that they missed on Friday.
With that it looked like the project was completed. Albert’s does say they provide a 5 year warranty as stated in their
Company Information.

Albert came and took a look at the house withing 48 hours of my contacting him and gave a price quote via email 36 hours later. I got 3 more quotes from other highly rated (on Angie's) contractors and Albert's quote was the most competitive. Albert came to the house to sign the contract and we agreed on a start date the following week. No deposit was required.
The crew comprised 4 men, all of who were very polite and courteous. They were very careful with moving furniture, taking down heavy flat screen TVs, putting dust covers and drop cloths, and cleaning up after each days work. Very hard working team that never complained and weren't in a rush to get done.
Quality of work was also very good. Excellent finish on flat surfaces, clean lines along edges, and attention to detail that many workmen may lack. The house had a light color originally that masked many dings and dents and the new color, which was darker, revealed several areas that needed repair after the initial coat was applied. All of these were fixed and the surface is now smooth and even. House looks great!
All in all, we were happy with the team, the quality of work, and the price we paid. We recommend Albert's strongly.
