Chris did a great job and provided a nice report to respond to items found on a home inspection report.

Other than arriving late it went very well. Workmen were professional and kept things clean.

The gentleman arrived promptly at the appointed time which was great. He set up his equipment and some drop cloths to keep things clean which was nice also. The actual cleaning of the chimney was very quick. It may have been that my chimney didn't require a cleaning but we just moved in and I wanted to be certain it was safe to have a fire - that was the reason for hiring affordable chimney. He was in and out multiple times and tracked in so much mud and grime from his shoes that I spent the rest of the morning after he left mopping and cleaning my wood floors. When he finished, he gave me a few papers with pictures and an invoice but didn't explain anything to me. I asked him how my chimney looked and he replied "Oh average." I wanted more information because I don't know much in this field and wanted to be certain my chimney was in good working order. I asked him again, if it looked like my chimney was in good condition. He replied again "It's about average." I asked once more this time a bit more specific - If you could rate my chimney on a scale of 1 to 10, what would it be. He replied " It's about average for what I see." For someone with 36 years of experience, I expected more expertise. I expected for him to tell me what he found, what the pictures showed, and what that meant. I received none of that. I was left to wonder what condition my chimney was in as I do not know what average means in his field or what he normally sees. I was also left with a filthy floor. I will say that he had a very pleasant conversation with my Christmas guest about types of stoves. He should have taken the time to discuss my chimney with me as I am the customer. I just think he couldn't be bothered and he obviously didn't care about my property or he wouldn't have tracked in all that mud. May I suggest booties in the future. I expected more professionalism. This picture below shows just some of the mud I wiped up before I could mop.

Even though, on the sold house, he had pointed out issues that were less than thrilling for me, they were right on and very fair in their estimate.   On the house I'm buying, he provide great analysis and again, very reasonable explanations of current state vs need to get right.  He followed up immediately to a couple questions after the inspection.  I would use him again no question.

It's been several months since we moved into our home and wanted to the piece of mind that our fireplace was in working order. Chris was punctual and extremely courteous and thorough during the entire inspection. He took the time to answer any questions we had about the fireplace (we're novices) as well as looking at all facets of the fireplace including exterior and roof as well as attic.  In addition, he pointed out items that should have been identified by the home inspector especially those involving safety.  Any soot was kept on the blanket so there was no additional cleanup for me. We would absolutely use Chris again for future sweeps!

Chris met all my expectations.  I had terrible service in the past from another company and was choosy this time.  From the initial contact with Chris, he was very cordial and accommodating.  He contacted me the day before to confirm my appointment and was a few minutes early the day of.  He performed a through inspection with pictures and cleaned the chimney.  Chris took the time to cover the work area, clean the mess and leave the premises the same way he found it.  He went over his report and answered all my questions.  Chris was very cordial and a pleasure to talk to.  I recommend Affordable Chimney Service and Chris Brown.

We got a comprehensive report including photos revealing a rusted and leaking chimney cap among other things. The chimney was cleaned and we were made aware of other issues..

Mr. Brown called in advance and asked if he could come early, which worked great for me. He arrived at the time he said he would. Checked everything I was concerned about and relieved those concerns. He told me things I may need to have fixed in the future, not it has to be done today sales pitch. I now feel good about using my fireplace this coming winter.

Chris Brown arrived promptly as scheduled.  Performed inspections inside and out and ran water through hosing down roof to look for areas of leakage that may not be visible, explaining what he was doing and what he was finding as he went along .  Discovered some cracks, at which point we rescheduled for 3 days later as 2 days of severe rainy weather was quickly approaching.   Chris returned promptly as scheduled once again and performed the required service.  Pictures were taken to show me the areas of needed repair before any work was done.  Those before pictures along with after pictures were provided to me to keep on record.  Chris was very friendly, polite, knowlegable and professional.

Chris was on time and was very professional and personable.  He inspected the chimney, took pictures of items needing attention and cleaned the flue.  He did not rush the job and was very through.  Highly recommend his services.  He provided a detailed report, complete with color photographs of the work done and recommendations.  Very satisfied.

Chris did a great job with the inspection, was very thorough and provided a report with pictures, recommended fixes, and pricing for all of the above. We provided the information to the sellers and they got the requested repair work done on the chimney / firebox / etc.

Chris Brown from Affordable Chimney was absolutely fantastic. We called him in for a second opinion on a chimney that had been patched previously on a house my wife and I are trying to buy. From the minute I pulled up, he was nothing but professional and friendly. He got me up on the roof for the first time in an exceptionally long time by his complete confidence and his ease of manor. He explained everything in terms anyone could understand...and then helped me off the ladder. By the time we were done, he had produced a printed out, collated and bound report that was instantly available. Overall, I couldn't be happier. He gave us a quote way less than the previous quote that the homeowners had gotten. My wife emailed him our original quote and asked him for a quote on those repairs, to which he responded...we really didn't need them. He's thorough, precise and amazing...not to mention honest. Chris was very prompt on his time. He gave my chimney a thorough cleaning. He also gave me a printed booklet with pictures on my chimney and listed concerns of repairs that we might want to have handled when we start to use the fireplace. He knew more about fireplace care then I ever knew. Very professional.

I can think of one word to describe Affordable Chimney ?EXCELLENCE?.  Chris was on time, cordial, and very knowledgeable.  He not only cleaned but did a complete inspection of my fireplace and left me a detailed booklet with pictures of everything he did and saw.  Even those this is a house I am rehabbing and there was not even any carpet installed yet he still covered the floor and kept everything very clean.

I will definitely be using this business for future projects!

I could not have been more impressed with Mr. Brown and his services.  I have had inspections done on other properties I have owned and it seemed more of an opportunity for them to sell me something versus a good cleaning and inspection.  Mr. Brown actually found something that required repair and gave me a quote to repair my chimney crown.  It was very reasonable and he said he could repair it after the first of the year.

We called Chris about coming out to remove some squirrels that had made a home in my chimney. unfortunately for me and the squirrels, they couldn't get out and they died there. We didn't know about the infestation until it started to get warmer outside and they squirrels started to smell. Chris couldn't come the next day, but he came two days after we called. He showed up on time, was very polite and professional, and quite the character, according to my wife. He got rid of the dead squirrels and the accompanying smell with no fuss. He was also very giving in his time for questions and recommendations, both before he took the job and after he was already at hour house.
