I was taken by surprise when they called to say they were on the way to check our unit because when I called to schedule the appointment I was told it would be Monday or Tuesday of the next week before they could get here. The individual that came out was very professional and personable. He checked the unit to see why it was not cooling effectively and found it was low in freon. He cleaned the coils and serviced the unit while here. It was a welcomed visit since the unit was running continuously yet not cooling our home.

Fixed the problem, and by late afternoon, house was nice and cool. Service tech was very polite, knew his job and explained what and why he was making the repairs.

The fan was running continuously without stopping. I called Adkins in the morning and the technician came that afternoon. After he looked at the problem he gave me my options, one of which would have been very expensive. He suggested trying the less expensive option first, just to see if that would solve the problem. It worked. I appreciated the fact that they did not try to sell me something I didn't need and their quality of work is good. This was not the first time I have used Adkins and it will not be the last.

He's outstanding. The staff line the floor with a covering so they don't soil the house. You don't even know that they're here, they are so efficient. They're available 24/7, they're pleasant, and always do top-notch work. They don't rip you off and make sure they give you just what you need for the size of your house.

Repairs completed on time and all areas were clean after work was completed.

On the evening of 4/16/2012, I noticed by AC was on, but not cooling. When I called Brothers Air and Heat (whom I had used since 2008), they told me to shut it off and they'd be out in the a.m. -- it was 80 degrees in my home that night. Next day, the technician turned it back on and a very loud banging noise was coming from the condensor outside. We investigated together and he told me my compressor had failed and needed replacement -- $2657 w/my 20% discount. He said I should consider replacing the entire system (approx. $6000 -- w/my discount!) and someone would have to come out to give me an quote. Since almost every time they came to service my HVAC (twice a yr), they said I "needed" something, I wanted a 2nd opinion. I was referred by a friend to Adkins Heating and Cooling -- they sent a technician out immediately. He found the compressor was fine (!), but it needed 2 lbs. of freon -- obviously, a leak somewhere. He cleaned the coils and I was charged $218.97 -- AND the AC was on and worked fine after that. Being so impressed w/the responsiveness and integrity shown by Adkins, I then had the owner come out for a quote to replace my system -- $4363. That work was done on 5/16/2012 and I've never been so impressed w/a company -- they were punctual, knowledgeable, professional, clean and efficient. The system was in and working in approx. 3 hrs. The old system was hauled off and my home was left clean, as though no work had been done. The company is family-owned and operated, has been in business in Rock Hill for over 40 yrs. and does not advertise -- because word-of-mouth from totally satisfied customers is all you need! I shared my experience w/my sister and her 2 daughters (all homeowners in Tega Cay) and we're all switching over to Adkins Heating and Cooling for our HVAC needs. Their service was outstanding in every way -- so long, Brothers!

I called to report the problem and had service scheduled for the following day. The receptionist was very polite, and the service mechanic prompt and knowledgable. I had Adkins H & A do a complete overhaul of my home's heating/air conditioning in 2004. The work involved both repairs as well as some new installation. I have lived in the Rock Hill area since 1987, having used three other local H & A companies. Adkin's knowledge and expertise are far superior to their competitors. I would recommend them unconditionally.

Called morning on 7/29/09 and asked to have someone come by and check my A/C. I had one room that was not cooling as well as the rest. I told them there was no rush. The called 2 hrs later to say that could be at my house in 15 minutes. They arrived as promised and listening to my problem. Jason removed his shoes before entered and even checked to make sure his socks were clean. After verifying the duct was putting out some cool air, he went outside to check the ducts under the house. 15 minutes later he was back at the front door and informed me the the ducts work for this room only and deteriorated and wasn't allowing the air to flow as it should. He told me the he was going to replace the section of ducting and the problem would be resolved. This is the 3rd time I have used Adkins. As with my previous experiences with them they have exceeded my expectations. Both their labor and parts costs have been fair and without question.
