CARTER CONSTRUCTION

This review is for the poor job that Carter Construction Co. of Ridgeville, SC, did. House was started in Nov. 2013; Occupancy was Feb. 2014. Jamie Carter, Carter Construction Co., did not follow up on his workers & did not go behind them to see if the work was done correctly. Had major problem with electrician's helper who could not speak English. My husband tried to tell him that the outside motion sensor flood lights had to go on certain switches & the other outside floodlights had to go on other switches. Guy did not wire it correctly. He had to come back with his boss & my husband talked to them both. They STILL DID NOT wire it correctly. The plumbing people left the plug out of the sewer pipe & we found raw sewage coming out from under the deck where the sewer pipe came from the house into the septic. They had also shoved this pipe to end of sump box & it was clogged so sewage could not go into septic tank. Again, nothing was checked to be sure job was done correctly. In Nov. 2014 the pest control man came to spray under the house for the one year inspection. He came out saying that much of the insulation was on the ground & it looked like rats had been under the house. I contacted Mr. Carter via phone--no returned calls. Finally texted him. He texted me several days later stating a guy would call me that day concerning the insulation. The guy didn't call for 4 days--again, Carter did not check to see if the man had called. When the insulation co. did come, he said there should be some type of moisture barrier underneath the house. He also said that NO hangers to hang the insulation had been installed in one end of the house; that was why most of the insulation was on the ground. I texted Mr. Carter about this & when it would be corrected--the moisture barrier. I have heard nothing from him since I texted him twice. I also sent a private message on Facebook--I was 'unfriended'. Mr. Carter thinks this is going away because he doesn't respond to me. I have filed a complaint with the SC Better Business Bureau & intend to place a sign at my driveway.
