Porch Outfitters poured approximately 300 square feet of concrete in my backyard. The concrete was not edged, was not flat, was not smoothed. It had a very irregular texture across the entire pour. Concrete was splatted on everything on an existing patio including windows and screens 4’ high and 16’ away. Porch Outfitters remove my hose nozzle, hose reel post, and termite boxes 6/18/25. They have failed to return my property.

In both cases the job was done on time, professionally and at a moderate price. All workers were courteous and when they came to the door, they were wearing masks. Supervision of both jobs was excellent. Have recommended Porch Outfitters to a number of our friends and neighbors.

Porch Outfitters listened to the circumstances the were being asked to provide the service for, considered the unique nuances of the project and responded they were not able to be involved at this point. However, they provided a firm with whom we could contact and a contact Person. That firm was contacted, responded timely, and is being considered For the project. Thank You for the Professional & Ethical Business Conduct you conveyed. Please, keep up the good work!

Very well. Some delays. Nothing unexpected for a project of the size and scope of work. The crew who did the work were an exceptional group. They even prepared an anniversary dinner for us when they were unable to complete the project in time for a planned event. It went well enough I have hired them on two subsequent occasions.

We contacted 3 patio contractors: one didn't get a price to us, even after multiple calls. Another one was double this price. Porch outfitters had given us their price before they left that day. No waiting to hear back from them. They also provided good suggestions on selecting the best screening type, and didn't pressure us into any decisions in the entire process. They also helped us with determining the best placement of a screened door to allow access to yard. You have to put down deposits, at various times as the process continues. They have a secondary meeting with you to review their drawings (that's when a 2nd deposit is required). We then submitted this drawing to our HOA. They waited for us to confirm that our HOA approved their drawing. The final payment is due upon completion of the job that day. All was handled professionally. We were EXTREMELY pleased with the results and quality of materials. They have been our best experience with subcontractors since we bought our new home, and we've had 7 different ones out here. We've had our patio enclosed for a month now, and it really is awesome and nice and tight. They cleaned up from their installation beautifully, and asked us if we wanted the left over materials. (which we did keep...just in case). I even got a bottle of touch up from them for the white aluminum type frame in case I scratch it in the future. I haven't seen such thoroughness in a long while. It was refreshing! I have already recommended them to my neighbor across the street, (I actually walked over the salesman to her home) but I'm not sure their referral bonus feature called "porch bucks" will work. We'll see on that one. Bottom line: I'm glad I found them on Angie's list! They also indicate they do remodels. I don't know if they sub those out, but I would consider them for future projects unrelated to screened porches.

Eventually started the job months after they initially scheduled it and then got "stop work" orders issued because they still hadn't gotten the permits. Didn't show up when they said they would and showed up when they said they wouldn't. Didn't or could'n't follow their own plans (it turns out they even left reinforcing bars out of the foundation so don't expect the building inspection department to look out for your interests). Didn't get inspections passed before moving on to the next step, covering up un-inspected work. Demanded payment in advance for material that was "special order" that turned out to be stock materials (ended up not even getting the material that was paid for). Demanded payment in advance of actual progress, couldn't even explain their own invoicing on a couple of occasions. Tried to charge extra for items that were spelled out in the contract or claim they weren't in their "scope of work". Demanded 90% payment when they were around 70% complete and abandoned the job when it didn't get paid. And to top it off, they put a lien on our property for payment on work they hadn't done. It cost more for us to finish the job than they had left to be paid if they actually finished. It took a year and a half to extricate ourselves from the worst, by far, service provider we have ever dealt with. Their salesman's professional and prompt attention was no clue as to what we could expect after signing the contract.

We purchased a home with a pool. It was a mess! Our friends had used Porch Outfitters for their pool enclosure so we asked them for a quote. Then we hired them. I can honestly say, without a doubt, that Porch Outfitters is one of the best companies we have ever worked with. Professional and caring, they truly cared about our home and the job at hand. When they saw something needed to be tweaked, they did it. We walked through the process together, making decisions and figuring out what was best. And then there were the crews! Second to none. Very courteous and hard working. Sunup till sundown. Until the job was finished. My neighbors even commented about the quality of workmanship and dedication! We would highly recommend this company and we look forward to working with them in the future on more projects!!

This provider has gone above and beyond with recommendations on how we can make our new screened in porch more functional for our area specifically when it comes to the outside elements. I feel this provider is very creditable and they have provided us with excellent work and service.  They have been working on our project for about 6 weeks and thru every stage they have been so communicative with us.  The crew seems to be happy and they are friendly to work with.  They stay late to complete the task at hand that day and are careful to satisfy our needs.  This is a provider that you definitely get what you pay for.

The ultimate product was acceptable, however, there was a considerable length of time were there was no communication while the materials were fabricated.  Also, there was confusion about whether the HVAC was included in the quoted price, which was a difference of approximately $1000. This was resolved in our favor, but it left a bad taste in our mouths, as you might expect.  Overall, we really enjoy the sunroom in spite of the issues and the cost.

Overall, project went well.  Time frame for starting and finishing was a little longer than anticipated, partially due to due circumstances  beyond Porch Outfitters control.  They handled all permits, and as noted, all employees that worked on our project
were skilled in their crafts.

They changed hands, and the new company is like 1000 times better than the old company. They did a beautiful job, and we have recommended them to several other people. My husband picked them off the phone book. We had a couple of problems, and they came back the same day. They have a life warranty, so if there is a problem, they come out immediately.

Like any project of this size, there were some hiccups, but I have to say that the principals of the company were at the job site almost everyday and followed through to make everything correct. The finished project turned out beautiful.

The WORST customer service I have ever seen. We used this company in the past and had no problem .. That is why we called them again for the exact same service. The sales Rep. was great , got right out to measure and gave us a quote on the spot. We were not ready to commit and later attended a home show and received a brochure with a 15% discount. When we were ready to contract, it took some negotiation to get them to honor the discount. With the discount, their price was in line with other quotes we had gotten. We were told the install would take up to 12 weeks due to permits, etc. We were contacted in approx. 5 weeks to schedule a pre-construction meeting. We were told that permits and HOA approval had been applied for. This was the end of May. Pre-construction meeting was done approx. 2 weeks later at which time we were told again permit had been applied for but the town was behind and took up to a month to issue. We were told by Johanna at this meeting that she would check on the HOA approval and call us back the next day with an estimated installation date. We did not hear back nor did she return our calls. We checked on the permit and found out it had not been applied for until a couple of days prior to our pre-construction meeting and the HOA approval was not requested until the day of the meeting. We contacted the owner, Dave, to voice our concerns that his staff had been lying to us and he appeared to be concerned and said he would talk to his staff. He offered to begin work without the permit or the HOA approval but we declined. We didn't hear anything for 3 weeks and called to check on the permit only to find out it had bee issued at least 1-2 weeks earlier and they were waiting on it to be picked up. The HOA approval had also been issued around the same time. I called Porch Outfitters and was told they had no knowledge of the permit or approval being issued. We told them we were assured by Dave that our install would be scheduled immediately. We were told the permit would be picked up and we would be contacted with an install date. We didn't hear anything again for a week and called back and were told the job would be completed the following week and that a definite date would be provided to us either Friday or Monday. We heard nothing and called back the following Thurs. and were told it would be the next Tues. needless to say, we were not happy. Then they called back and said they would begin after lunch the next day (Friday) and finish on Sat. We questioned that they would be working on Sat. and were assured it would be finished. On Friday, they delivered all materials and piled everything on our back lawn. They installed a gutter and left. We received a call the next morning stating they would not be there to finish until Mon. In the meantime, all materials were scattered on our lawn killing our grass. On Monday we got a call that one of the guys assigned to our job was not going to be able to come back and that someone else would be there the following day. We insisted that their materials be moved off our lawn due to further delays. It rained all day Tues. and the workers showed up on Wed. morning. They did work hard all day and finished on Thurs. Unfortunately, they ran into our mailbox, that had just been installed by the HOA , and broke it in the process. After the lack of communication for the past 3 months, we were surprised when Johanna knocked on our door before the last screw was tightened asking for final payment. That didn't happen and we were called at least 4 times the next day wanting to know if they could come by and pick up a check. We informed them that payment would be made when the mailbox was fixed, we had touch up paint to cover the few scratches and when the door was fixed so that Mosquitos could not get in. After the initial conversation with the owner, we left him 2 messages to call us but got no response. We had no problem with the timeframe we were given but do have a problem with people constantly lying to us and not doing what they promised.

Signed Contract on 31 Dec.  Salesman said they needed work to keep their crews busy.
Contacted the company approximately 6 Feb  to inquire about progress on plans.  Was told they were in engineering.
The company called and set up a pre construction meeting for 12 Feb. Meeting consisted of reviewing the CAD drawings.  We asked when they could start since We did not make any changes.  Was told the plans would be submitted that week for permits.
Contacted the company on 28 Feb, was told they were waiting on permits.  Contacted them on 5 Mar, and was told that they would probably start work the next Monday.  Contacted them on 10 Mar, Permits are expected this week.  Contacted them on 14 Mar to determine if permits had been received, was told they were still waiting for permits.  Asked them when they submitted request, was told request for permits went in 4 March.
Called Hardeville permit section on 19 Mar, was told they should be ready by Friday (21 Mar).  Permit section explained that the request was initially returned to the company because the were using an electrician not licensed in Jasper county.
Contacted company on 25 Mar, permit will be picked up on 26 Mar and work will begin next week (31 Mar).  The work will take 5 days.
Company contacted us and said work would begin 1 Apr.  First workers appeared 2 Apr.
Footers were dug and preparation for concrete was accomplished.  Concrete was poured 3 Apr.  Framing began on 4 Apr.  The crew worked a half a day before they were pulled off to another job.  Framing was completed on 21 Apr.  The screens went in quickly.  Site manager came out for final walk through, but electrician had not completed their work.
We made an appointment for final walk through on 3 June.  Site manger was a no show.  Called to say they had to reschedule.  After several missed appointments we declared the job finished and asked for  final invoice.  Still waiting on it.

this turned out to be a nightmare. and the problems began - one right after another - too many to describe. ultimately after several attempts to right the wrongs and having a vendor rep take a look at the problems, i ultimately demanded that the screen be removed which it was and then began the process of getting my money back from the company which became a messy business for quite some time. finally in january of 2013 i got all of my money back. the company, at that point, told me that they were no longer going to install garage screen. i might add that this same company put a glass enclosed sunroom on our house and did an outstanding job - go figure.
Response from Porch Outfitters Inc
"Thank you for your business, we appreciate it very much. We put our customers first and try to offer only quality products backed by reputable manufactures. Unfortunately the garage screen manufacturer did not meet our standards and we have since dropped the product line. We fought for your refund and got it! Your TEMO sunroom is awsome! It was a pleasure working for you."
