Work was completed in a timely manner and cost was reasonable. We will hire again!

Never got a call from the individual. At this point I am not sure if I am going to hire them to do the job.

I was impressed by the stellar reviews for this business. I called twice and left messages and also contacted the business through their web site. They never responded.

Everything proceeded according to plan, despite some hurdles: David had to work in a very small space, with 90-year-old plumbing, uneven floors, and vendor delays. But David saw these as challenges rather than hurdles. We were constantly impressed with his adaptability, knowledge, and professionalism, Additionally, he was here every day on time from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.--often later--never taking a break, and always cleaning up as he went along. David is extremely conscientious and ethical--a real artist at his craft who loves what he does. We couldn't be happier with his work. He, and the bathroom, far exceeded our expectations!!

I remember they were professional.?That was all that I could remember. There is nothing for them to improve on. I technically didn't have the money at the time, and I was just starting to look at estimates and products. I really wasn't ready to follow up with it at that time. I think I would consider them in the future.?

David was on time, got right to work, and didn't waste a minute. He is a thoroughly delightful person and did an excellent job of repairing the bed. We will be happy to have him work for us again anytime.

Even though the weather and unexpected issues (This is an old house where the unexpected problems may arise when renovating.) caused some delays , Daniel of Upstate Remodel, did a great job.  He and David are perfectionists in every task they undertake. 

The stairwell job has transformed a regular stairwell into a pretty area.  David made chair rails with "shadow boxes" below which really "dressed up" a merely utilitarian space. In addition they repainted the area. Again, the precision of his work is remarkable.

Daniel encountered several problems with the bathroom cabinet and the kitchen but persevered with painstaking excellence.  The installers for the granite countertops who were recommended by Upstate Remodel were very prompt and did a beautiful job in the kitchen and the bath.  The appliance garage on the kitchen counter had to be practically rebuilt by Daniel, but again his desire for perfection resulted in a finished product that the average person would never guess had been a problem.  The ceramic backsplash which I requested be tiled in the "diamond"  pattern is perfect.  Again there were issues that required some thought and careful decision, but the result is exactly as I had pictured.

My husband and I highly recommend David or Daniel for any job for which they would contract.  We definitely will use them for any further work we have done.  We are seniors who were impressed with their professionalism as well as their pleasant and engaging personalities.  We found them very courteous and respectful.  Both are men of integrity who were and still are welcome in our home as family.

The cost paid ($3,247.26) does not include the cost of the granite and granite installation or the cost of the ceramic tile.

Also, this amount does not include a  gratuity for their outstanding work and their success in completing the work by our deadline.

Never called back after initial visit.

We knew the steps were not to code in the beginning, but it was revealed that one of the risers was not anchored.  David Hammond of Upstate Remodel basically had to rebuild the steps.  The work he did is beautiful.  His detail with the molding is exceptional,  We don't believe anyone could have done a better job.  His price for this job was more than reasonable. 

 I asked him what I could do to "decorate" this large, empty space, and he sent me a photo of a job he had done.  We liked it and contracted with him to do the same with ours.  He painted the stairwell, then put in a chair rail, with decorative molding below--a "shadow box" effect.  My husband was so pleased with the finished product that he said the stairwell was too pretty for the rest of the house!  For this additional work to beautify the stairwell, Upstate Remodel charged $1,465.55  (Work was done in January, completed 01/15/2015).

With these two jobs, an ugly, unsafe stairwell morphed into a  beautiful part of our home.

Overall the job went very well.  I would highly recommend David and Daniel to anyone else.
We had a situation where the condition of the existing floors was so bad that other contractors, who I had contacted first, had told me that they were unwilling to take on the job.  We had been told that the floors could not be saved and that our only option was to completely remove and replace them.  But we didn't want to outright replace the floors because of cost and because we wanted to retain some of the original character of our older home.
When I first spoke to David on the phone, I explained the situation.  He said that he couldn't make any promises, but that he was willing to take a look, put some thought into it, and see what we could do.  After seeing our floors, David and Daniel went back to their shop and tried some things on a few test pieces, and were able to come up with a solution to save our floors.
Fast forward two weeks, and the floors are done.  They look absolutely great.  We had one hiccup where they uncovered some unexpected water damage, but they were able to repair it at a fair price and match the new floor boards seamlessly into the existing original floors.
Job well done.  We would certainly use them again for future work.

His work looks great and he was very accommodating, clean, and quick.

David went above and beyond to give me information about the remodel.  Even though he is busy now and I have a short timeline to get this done, he spent time with me on the phone to tell me about products that he would recommend to make sure the job is done right.

David was personable and responded to my request for a work estimate in a very timely manner. He sent me the quote via e-mail(my request) in a timely manner. He did excellent work, kept the job site cleaned and cleaned thorougly at the close of the project. Keep in mind he does work alone. He seemed to be very up to date on materials needed and takes a lot of pride in his work and in completing it to your satisfaction. He kept me informed re his progress . I would use him again. Well done!

Everything was perfect. David Hammond is the best young wood working master that I've seen. You see, my mother's side of our family was all wood workers, dating four (4) generations back. He is polite, kind, and professional. He even vacumed up the debrie, after comp[letion. WOW  !!

Awesome job! Very respectful, used caution when working and painting around my daughter's room, and this has added value to our home.

David reviewed the two bathroom floors to be tiled.  He offered some help in providing some stores to help in picking out some tile.  He also suggested using Schluter Ditra which would enhance the overall integrity of the installation.  We chose to go with this product.  He and his partner Thomas completed the project in five days.  We couldn't ask for anything better!  It certainly came out beautiful and the baths look so clean and spacious.  They were a joy to have them working here.  We'd recommend them in a heartbeat!!
