Shortly before we moved into our newly constructed home in July of 2023 we discovered that over 3,000 square feet of wood flooring had been incorrectly installed. The floors were buckling, pushing base molding off the walls and doors wouldn’t close because the subfloor wasn’t properly leveled. We talked with numerous local flooring companies, and finally settled on Freeman’s Flooring. Freeman removed the defective floors, leveled the floors by grinding down humps and building up valleys. Over the two months, that it took to remove and reinstall with new base molding, Freeman’s workers were meticulous with a very disciplined attitude toward their work. Freeman, himself, had a high level of commitment to customer service and quality of work. If there was a problem, Freeman was on site to solve it. We couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome. Our floors are absolutely gorgeous and look like a photo in a magazine. Without question, we would hire Freeman’s Flooring again!

We needed work done to prepare our beach home for the vacation rental market starting in May. Our neighbor nearby recommended Freeman. She said he was expensive but good, but of course all licensed contractors cost more. When Freeman first showed up he was very charming. He sounded like he knew what he was doing and could start right away which was important to us. Initially he said the job was going to cost $2000 but as we talked things about additional things (which were never done) the price shot up to $3000. My husband and I agreed the pricing was good enough and I asked for a written estimate. The written estimate and contract never came. Due to time constraints, we ended up leaving Freeman $900 to help pay for materials and get the work started while we were out of town on Spring Break. When we returned he and his crew had made a lot of headway and Freeman pressured me to pay in full while the work was incomplete and poorly done (i.e., the trimwork around the door was too short or missing). He assured me everything would be completed properly. He said he was "in the hole" so he gave me the hard press for full payment. I paid him $1500 and he kept giving me a lot of grief about it. He said "I heard that you are rich" (I'm not) which made me uncomfortable. I felt like he thought I was his meal ticket. I told him I never got my estimate and I don't even know what I'm paying for. When I told him I wanted to see it and he said "It's going to cost you more" (rather threatening and manipulative I felt). He also was very seductive and constantly coming on to me while my husband was out of town. He spoke like he's a philanderer and a s** addict. Needless to say, I felt the things he said were very inappropriate. In other instances he came 2+ hrs late, always full of excuses. In general, I found Freeman emotionally immature, unprofessional and disrespectful. I couldn't stand working with him anymore so I had my busy husband manage the project. Freeman pressured my husband for more money too but my husband made a point that we needed an accounting of the costs incurred before we could proceed. We have not heard from Freeman since. In addition to Freeman's unprofessionalism, his crew was messy. They did sloppy painting and repeatedly poured paint down our bathroom sinks and left saw dust on the floor for a cleaning woman who was working at our home clean up (rude!). Since Freeman Hardwood Flooring are out of the picture we've had to hire other people to finish and repair their work. Unfortunately, Freeman and his crew did such a poor job that things have to be redone or patched up just good enough before the renters arrive (things are not level or installed properly, thus hard to complete). Regardless, I am greatly relieved to have Freeman and his crew out of the picture. I don't need the kind of drama and turmoil Freeman brings.

"As Freeman's wife I am blown away by this person: first having this much time to write something secondly I am going to consult an attorney for slander in regard to Angie's List posting this and this persons outragious statements. We have been in business since 1996 and I have nver experienced such a slanderous and crude thing as this and I just hope she can sleep at night and be ok with her maker in heaven for saying such lies. They did great work for me and everything went pretty good. They've still got to come back because they've got one spot that needs to be taken care of. I've been waiting since there are holidays, relatives coming in and everything else. There's one spot that didn't come out right. They know about it and they've called me a couple of times, but I've put them off until after the holidays as there's too much going on. I actually need to move my mother, my wife and the dog out of the house when they do the work because it smells so bad. They kept things clean. They were all good and I had no problems with them. They are honest and tried to keep the right things.

My home had mismatched flooring. I had a carpenter make some repairs to the subfloor and lay new oak flooring. He recommended that we use Freeman to finish the new floors. Freeman came and looked at the project, gave an estimate and a start-date. His crew arrived on schedule and finished the project as promised. Perhaps the most difficult aspect of the project was matching the existing oak flooring. The first attempt was a bit too red, so Freeman re-sanded and the second attempt was perfect. Never once, did I hear an excuse or a complaint. His crew was prompt and professional, and Freeman was very conscientious about making certain that I was a satisfied customer.
