It took them a while to finish the project.

I was the worst experience of my life with a contractor.
CertaPro does not have employees. They sub out to what apparently is the lowest bidder.
The crew showed up to prep the house. They power washed for a day. That went as expected.
The crew showed back up to prep the house this is where it started to fail. There was very little if no prep done and what they did do was sub par. There was literally no priming, which was in the contract to prime over rusty nails etc.
So it went down hill from there. They started spraying. They sprayed everything, there was so much over spray onto driveway, air-conditioning units, shrubbery, patio furniture despite the fact that it was moved into the center of the decks or totally removed from the decks. There were foot prints where shoes with wet paint stood on top off our air conditioning units.
Windows had paint all over them, light switches were painted. I can go on and on.
To top this all off, we had written a scope of work with the specific paint specified and they did not use it......
So they said they were going to spray all over again. What a night mare. I would not wish this on anyone.
Oh not to mention the contract says they will clean up everyday, ha that was a joke, I spent most of my evenings cleaning up after them as they left ladders up against the house, buckets of what with paint water in them that they were attempting to clean out. Spilled paint on the ground, cigarette butts everywhere. I can go on and on.
So they said they were done. Ha. My husband walked the job and just on the first ground floor of a 3 story house he spend 6 hours documenting all the items that needed fixed.
CertaPro returned 11 times and still has not fixed all the items on our list.
I refused to pay since the work was never completed as by this time it was winter and they could not paint.
He tried putting a mechanics lien on the house but he could not even do that correctly it was dropped.
So now he is taking me to court to pay him because he claims he "completed" the job.
I can not tell you who to hire but I can sure recommend who not to hire.

Great service. Only complaint would be some paint spatter was found on the carpet in numerous places, and they did miss a couple of areas initially. However, they were responsive and remedied the concert we had. Would definitely use this company again.

Very well. all personnel were ouite professional and courteous. Only drawback might have been the limited or slow communication with the job leader, primarily I believe resulting from the fact that English was not his native tounge. The only negative aspect was that the waste water from cleaning their brushes and equipment was dumped into two holes in the back yard which had been dug to work on the irragation system.The holes were then covered with pine straw and not discovered by myself till I went out a few days later to work on the system.

No supervision of 3 men painting exterior trim. Took long lunch breaks, played loud music, one man urinated on side of garage, got white paint spots on steps and walkway.

"While on the job site, we received one e mail from the customer expressing concern over two issues. First, that some one had urinated on her garage and that the painters were close to beginning work on her porch and she wanted tarps put down to prevent paint splatter. Inappropriate behavior by a CertaPro painter is a breach of company policy and is not tolerated. The offending painter was dismissed and is no longer with CertaPro Painters. The onsite crew was informed of the tarping issue and the porch was thoroughly covered within one hour of notification. These are the only issues of which we were aware while the paint crew was on site. At the completion of the job, the customer informed us she was satisfied with the quality of the work. Subsequently, we were informed of paint drops on the front steps of the home. We offered to send out a supervisor to address the issue but that was refused. We first heard of the issues regarding quality, lack of supervision and noise in the Angie's list review. CertaPro takes these matters very seriously. Our review indicates that for the three days of the job, at least one supervisor was on site all but for a period of time during the morning of the second day of the project. Had we been aware of the noise issue, we would have addressed it immediately. As stated above, we were not aware of quality issues at any time during or after the project or prior to the review."

Painters were pleasant and wanted to ensure we were happy with the work. Only criticism, would have liked owner to have met with us on the day the work was to be performed to introduce the crew and to ensure scope of job was understood by all.

The salesman led me to believe that I was going to get a top of the line paint job. The painters were prompt and I must say they were very hard workers but not the professional painters I thought I was getting.especially for the price I paid. They were suppose to repair the textured ceiling in places, but their repairs were very amateur . With reference to the outside painting, I was told that the trim would be inspected and replaced if necessary. This was not done. The painters painted over the rotten wood, and when I confronted the sales rep, he denied making that statement.. However, when I complained about it, the painters did return to replace some of the boards. At first glance the inside paint job looked good, but after a closer inspection, there were several places not filled in and smoothed out, For the price paid for this paint job, I should have gotten a higher quality job. I was also told by the sales rep that he would come by to check on the painters after they started painting, but this was never done, My advice to anyone wanting to get painting done is to hire a painter not a painting contractor.

"The customer asked that we repair their popcorn ceiling which we advised them was in poor condition and a simple patch repair would not suffice. Better to remove it than patch it. The customer said they would rather do the patch even though it would not be perfect. Insofaras the "rotted" trim is concerned, we do say that we will alert the customer to any rotted wood that we may find and give them the option to pay us to have our carpenter replace it or they can make their own arrangements. We did not find rotted wood. What we found were three small warped boards which we told them about. They did not pay our carpenter to replace them although he did replace them. With respect to any missed spots in the interior, our contract clearly states that they have a two year warranty on workmanship. This is the first we have heard of missed spots. They need only call us and under the warranty we will come out and fill in those spots at no charge."

Although the cost was relatively high for the job, Certapro took care to select the proper coating for application over stucco, which meant using an expensive coating system. Given this, the overall cost was very reasonable. The color match was outstanding, as was the application. I contracted with the independent franchise owner, Fred Guenther, who didn't do the job himself, but had an experienced painter perform the work. Fred checked on the work at the end of the job to make sure we were happy. I also had him do some interior painting as well, and would use him again for future work.

Met the franchise owner (Fred Guenther) of CertaPro at a home show, made an appointment for an estimate and proceeded to schedule the work.
Start and finish dates were met as promised. The painters were professional, courteous, and responsive to our requests.
We have already scheduled them to paint the exterior of our home.
