Called several people for prices. Had two in to discuss the floors (one didn't call me back - I only call once; I don't believe in chasing people to offer them work).
The job consisted of basic repair work to the floor, replacement of missing flooring, tear out of an old wetbar floor replacing with tile and replacement of the shoe molding.
I was worried that the floors were hopeless and knew that I wanted a natural color with a matte finish.
Terrence, the owner, was sure they could be beautiful after sanding and using Bona Naturale on the wood. His quote was on par with the other refinisher (actually less) but that was not the reason I went with him. He was responsive to all my emails, even pictures I sent him.
The floors are gorgeous. I couldn't have been happier with them. He did all the repair work, tear out, tiled the old wet bar (now a laundry room) and did a great job on the shoe molding. He went to three stores to try and match a trim used throughout the condo and even though he wasn't able to match it I appreciated the effort.
He is a very nice person and he takes pride in his work. Cleanup was minimal and the job was done a day ahead of schedule.

The person who actually did the tiling was professional and did a great job. The owner of the company and the company itself was horrible. I will never deal with them again. They were unprofessional. They wouldn?t return calls or emails. They doubled the estimate, and when it was time to pay they said they didn?t remember things that we discussed at the initial meeting. They started work three weeks late. The person who did the work did a beautiful job. The owner of the company argued with me. I actually called him and pointed out lies to him.
