Generator Service
Yes, I recommend this pro
$9,200
Owner Shep Rogers' Low Country Generators had the best price and exceptional service. We got 3 bids - two from big-box home building stores, 1 from low-country generators. From the start, Low Country Generators was the most professional. They kept their appointments when they said they would or provided timely information when there was a need to reschedule. Their follow-up was terrific throughout the job, providing just the right amount of information and explanations of why they proposed to do what they were intending to do. Our house is all electric and we have a home office, so we wanted to put in a 22KW generator. They ended up being the lowest cost provider by a few hundred dollars for one vendor and a little over a thousand dollars less than the other vendor. The generator arrived and Shep's install team, all polite, tenured, professionals performed a very careful install in our house which is only a few months old. They were very careful with the finish work and the cleanup, coordination of the propane connections. Manufacturer snafu (Generac): They then started the generator to test it and it was very apparent there was a major problem with it: The generator made a loud banging noise. It was very apparent there was a loose metal part inside the engine somewhere that was getting pounded around. Generac's policy was to return the original part where they would check to see if this was covered under the warranty, then ship a new one - an approximate 8 week turnaround. We live in the South Carolina coastal low country and wanted to have this installed sooner rather than later given the storm risks. WITHOUT OUR EVEN ASKING Shep said he'd send this back on his own and provide a new generator pending resolution of the warranty by Generac. The new working model was installed the following week. Shep's crew provided testing and training for us and all was well. The generator starts and tests itself every 2 weeks like it's supposed to, worked perfectly during a two-hour outage a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, there are many bad apples in the construction trades in the greater Charleston area. There are also many jewels. We work nationally, Low Country Generators would get an excellent rating in any part of the country. Learn all about them here: [*** Link removed ***]
