We had our crawl space encapsulated and a dehumidifier installed in the crawl space. The work appears to be of good quality. I only had one reoccurring issue: communication. Getting the quote was easy and the site the review was thorough and professional. When comparing contractors and asking questions, I did get timely responses from BioTek (same day or next day). The day the work was supposed to start I took the day off. The time came and went with no one showing up. Apparently there was a scheduling issue and the crew wasn't notified, but I also was not contacted until I reached out to find out what was going on. When they were actually scheduled, they again did not arrive at the appointed time (no contact with me) but did come a couple hours later. Once they started the work, they worked very diligently and stayed later into the evening to complete the job. The crew was very professional in their interactions with me, and they cleaned up after themselves. After this portion of the job was done, again there was a lack of communication on when the other crew would come to install the electrical outlet for the dehumidifier and the crawlspace door. I also had to remind them to come back and install the fasteners attaching the vapor barrier to the wall. A couple weeks passed without contact (I had not paid anything at this point), and they finally scheduled this punch list work. However, when the day came the crawl space door had not come in yet so they had to reschedule again. When they finally did finish this portion of the work they reached out for payment, understandably. I still had one issue with the custom crawl space door not having a tight fit. I was still asked to go ahead and pay so they could close the job out but that they would stop by one day and install a fastener to close the gap in the door. Having been a couple months at this point I do not expect anyone to come out, so I'll probably just handle myself. Overall I would still hire again due to the quality of the work that was performed. It is unfortunate that many contractors seem to have this issue with communication, and I'm not sure how much better another company would have been. I trust the craftsmanship of the work that was completed and do not expect to have any issues with it.

They really went the extra mile. Happy to recommend them to patients and to colleagues. Before applying double membrane barrier they discovered ground water level was the problem. Brought in 2 consultants and solved the problem with outdoor buried pump to move water to existing system to drain into marshland. Then applied membrane. Also reduced humidity in garage.

BioTek responded the next day when we called with a concern, which was much appreciated. I had called a few other companies that could not come out for over a week. They were professional and honest, which resulted in no cost to us and no service from them at this time. We appreciated the honesty and the assistance with figuring out what needed to be done. We will definitely recommend BioTek to others and contact them for service if we need them in the future (hopefully we don't!). What a great experience with a good company! Thank you!

"As painful as it is to receive a review that is as bad as this one, I appreciate the opportunity that it gives us to improve our level of service. We have an exceptionally good track record with Angie's List members, so to receive an "F" is certainly a wake up call to me. Upon receiving this review, I researched to find out how we had failed Mrs. [Member Name Removed] and reached out to find out what we can do to make things right. After speaking with Mr. [Member Name Removed], he graciously agreed for us to come to his home on 10/23/17, and we offered to pay for the cost of his original Angie's List inspection coupon. He agreed with my understanding that while we were clearly slow in scheduling a visit to their home, we never had a meeting scheduled so the statement that we were "no shows several times" is not quite accurate. That said, our failure to be more responsive is unacceptable to me and is inconsistent with the level of service that we pride ourselves on."

It went very well. He looked around and noticed that the house feels very humid, but he didn't think we have a mold problem. He suggested we get a dehumidifier, and told us what kind to get , and how to clean it. He answered all of our questions, and didn't charge us for the consultation. He is obviously an expert on his subject, and was extremely knowledgeable. We are very happy with his services and I recommend him to anyone concerned about air quality, and water disasters.

Company representative came and was very professional took samples and with a few days I have the results with recommended treatments. In our case they wasn't significant amounts of mold so a over-the-counter product was used.

It went very well! I thought we had a mold problem however they informed us and assured us that we did not have any mold. Biotek did not charge us and stated that he really did not do any work. I offered to pay several times and they would not allow me. This company is great. Professional and on time. I will be working with them in the future and highly recommend them.

Better than I imagined! The technician inspected the problem sites which were at registers surrounded by popcorn ceiling. He saved me over $6,000 and will definitely use their service again.

I had two leaks from my skylights (since replaced) with water spots (currently dry to the touch) and wanted to verify there was no mold. I called Biotek to see what their cold contact price. It was over $100 more than the Angie List price for the same service. BioTek's agent also answered questions about other dried water spots. The entire experience was professional.
