Advanced Direct Security- ADT Authorized Company

10:15am.....As we did not hear from the rep., I called the ADT office again and informed them to not bother. I'm trying to get a security system installed for my mother. I have ADT in the state where I live and have not had many issues, so this would have been an easy sale for them. That said, our time is important, and if a rep doesn't respect my time, they don't deserve our business. 10:32 Rep just called to say sorry for missing appointment and to please call to reschedule. I don't think so.

The rep came to my home to give an estimate for security for our home. We have a 3 story townhome with an elevator. We have 5 balconies and one side porch. I explained that we have never had a security system before and she needed to explain everything to me from the beginning to the end. She proceeded to talk about her company and what they do. But when it got to the technical aspects of the service such as how many motion detectors we needed, where to place a motion detector, how many door alarms we should get, how the equipment is installed...she could not answer questions. Our neighbors had ADT come out and they were given an estimate that was really quite good. They said their rep went and looked all over their home including checking out the "smart box" and the electrical system in the garage. She never left our living room! Our neighbor's rep was named Bruce. Every time we asked a question she said..."Let me call Bruce". This occurred 3-4 times. I finally said "maybe we should just get Bruce over here". She left a written estimate but it was in their business "shorthand". I didn't understand any of it. So I had to call her. There were a couple of important issues she forgot to even mention such as how many people had to be on our contact list and what to do in the event of a power failure. I decided that her lack of knowledge and professionalism needed to be reported to her supervisor. We were not discounting ADT as yet. We still had interviews with 2 more companies. The only number she left was the "800" number so I called it and explained to the rep was happened and that if I was still to consider ADT I needed to speak to the manager. The rep said the manager's name was Elizabeth and he would email her right now and have her call me. I gave my home and cell number as well as my email address. I never heard from her. Two days went by so I called the "800" number again. I got a different rep and explained the situation again and they transferred me to Elizabeth's desk. I got her voice mail and left a message leaving both numbers again and NEVER heard from her. I called the "800" number again and said I was choosing another security company and would NOT recommend ADT here in the Charleston area to anyone.

They are good at checking the alarms. If the alarms go off they call me right away. My neighbor had a wonderful experience with them as well.
